Not who is your favourite heavyweight, or favourite H2H heavyweight, or who is the most charismatic, or biggest puncher etc who do you think is the most technically skilled heavyweight out of as many ATG as I can fit in to this poll?
Sorry if there was not enough room for your favourite.

The way I see it, there are two schools of thought for this. You're either going with Ali or you're going with Louis. I suppose you could also go with Dempsey, but that was so long ago that I could understand no one picking him.

I think that smaller heavyweights have a higher ceiling for technical skills. You could make a case for Roy Jones Jr or James Toney but I suppose they wouldn't be considered ATG HWs.

Maybe not Roy actually, his skills were weighted more in the physical rather than technical

Depends what you mean by technically skilled? Ali had amazing abilities but none of what he would do will be in any boxing textbook. The dancing feet, the hands held low, the dependence on his lightning speed and reflexes, the holding and mind games and bursts of quick combinations is not something that you could teach.

IMO, Evander Holyfield at his best had every punch and move in the book and just about every one of them he could do to a good level. Jab, right cross, left hook, uppercuts, body shots, good footwork and even good defence when he wasn't inclined to be drawn into a slugfest. So would that make him the most technically skilled or just among the best skilled all round boxer/fighters?

Most technically skilled, I'm going with Larry Holmes.

Ali, wasn't the most technically skilled. He was the
    most physically gifted. (prime Ali)

Technically skilled, and yet you have Wlad and Mike Tyson on the list but no Wilder.
