Here is your prize for voting for Jacobs, sir: a very nice gif of Sergio Mora dropping Danny Jake with a counter left hook. https://j.gifs.com/lYW50J.gif
This. I want to give Jacobs the benefit of the doubt, but his fights against Mora, Ishe Smith, and Pirog say he gets knocked out.
I just rewatched the pirog fight last night. Jacobs was doing fine in the first 2 rounds, and when pirog starting pressuring him, he didn't like it and some of his punches lose steam when he fight of the back foot. I like Jacobs, but I think those are glaring weakness going into a fight with GGG.
The only way Jacobs can win is if he enters the centre of the tornado and lands a fury. May the best man win.
I am thinking GGG in < 4. I just have a feeling that Jacobs will not be able to handle the power. As I said in another post, I am not a good predictor, so I may be so wrong, but I just don't see this fight being competitive in the way others do. Would be great to be wrong, because I prefer great matches to blowouts, and I have no preference regarding who wins.
Golovkin is the safe bet and I've thought he'd win the entire time, up until now. Probably end up a dumb looking pick but I think Jacobs pulls the upset tonight and wins a close decision. Looking forward to the fight and the Gonzalez fight as well.
At least I stayed consistent with my track record of predictions, wrong again. I was so completely mistaken about Jacob's ability, but, it's good to be wrong when it results in a better fight.
