Hopkins is still P4P #5, that says it all really.

Why shouldnt he be, he gave Calazaghe the toughest fight of his career at the age of 43, in losing a split decision, Calzaghe is ranked what, #3?

Excellent point. If Hops is ranked too high, then Joe must be as well. I have no real problem where either guy is ranked.

As far as any negative effect from Oscar buying the Ring, I haven't seen any yet and will wait until I do before I start criticizing.

I dont purchase the Ring magazine or anything myself, but I usually do read it from front to back in the local CVS I go to every week, I have yet to see the negative effect Oscar has had on the magazine, I just think Oscar haters love to find ways to bring him down.

Glad I'm not the only one who does that. I even do it at the same store: CVS.

 At least I'm not the only one thats cheap, most of the stuff they have in there is old news anyway, I just like articles they have in there sometimes. I honestly cant remember the last time I bought a ring magazine, I think it was 02 or 03.

I'll usually buy the State of the Game issue, but there has to be something really good in there for me to buy the magazine these days. With gas at four bucks per gallon here in Detroit, I'm saving money any way I can. Whether it's called being cheap or being frugal, I will gladly wear that label. :yep

Same here my friend, Pittsburgh's gas prices are about the same, the days of going out and spending money on something that catches your eye, is long gone. I'm lucky I still can afford HBO and SHO, without Boxing my life would really suck.:yep

I'm a faithful subscriber (don't think I could go to the toilet without one:lol: ), and I've been watching close since Oscar took over.

Most of the time it does seem business as usual, with some articles even bashing Oscar or GBP fighters for whatever reason.

Then there are issues like 2 months ago I think it was, where Oscar was on the front and back cover of the damned thing.:yep

i dont thing the champs lose credibility because they still had to win the belts from the champions from the pre gbp era. their rankings have flaws but then all rankings have flaws

mine too. Seems like it will now be a advertisement for Golden Boy. Good move on their part probably, although the PPV sales are not affected that much by the boxing fans. The general public gives them the money. I heard Sugar Ray Leonard talk about boxing fans vs. general sports fans once and he said that the hardcore boxing fans in the United States could not fill a small arena.
