If you guys ever talk to these 4 ****en losers about chins I swear to God imma ****en block you. Now try me!
Jacobs is a good man that I'd like to see walk out of the ring on March 18th. But first he needs to understand that this isn't bone cancer that he is battling, this is GGG. And it's going to take more than a miracle to do anything meaningful against him.
Starched by Pirog, floored vs the completely feathfisted Sergio Mora, rocked by Ishe Smith. What more evidence do you need?
I've seen Adamek got dropped by Chad Dawson and Paul Briggs at @ 175 and then exhibit and absolutely granite chin at cruiser. I've seen James Toney got dropped at MW and SMW and went onto exhibit an insane chin all the way up to HW. I've seen Tim Bradley got dropped by Kendall Holt and went on to stand up to punches from Pacquaio, Marquez and Provodnikov. And most notably, we've all seen Ali get dropped by a LHW and go on to stand up to monstous punches from George Foreman. Anybody can go down, doesn't always suggest a glass jaw. Jacobs was never hurt against Mora, It was a flash knock down. And Pirog was a very good puncher, especially when he timed you perfectly like he did to Jacobs. I'm not saying he has a great chin, It's probably below average but he's no Khan or Price.
Your first 3 examples are all fighters whose chins improved after moving up in weight, this isn't an uncommon occurrence. Look at Cotto for instance. Jacobs isn't moving up in weight for this fight vs GGG. I do see what you are saying about Jacobs though, his chin isn't as bad as Khan or Price although chins that bad don't come around too often.
His chin is not the issue, it might hold for lots of others. His main issue is that GGG is a skull crusher.
SOB Ward has a plan to cheat for Jacobs. The fight will be in Jacobs' home town, with his personal judges, referee, boxing commission, all Jacobs has to do is run like hell! Even if Jacobs gets knocked down ten times, the judges will score for Jacobs. SOB has been helping train Jacobs to cheat...............
It seems there are some serious weaknesses when you drop so much weight. Look at Cotto at 140 for example. He was never down by a punch (he didn't go down by a punch against Margarito, he went down by cumulation of punches) after he moved up to fight at his more natural weight. Jacobs is obviously cutting a lot of weight to fight at mw. He probably uses some kind of drugs to hydrate himself after weigh in, but that doesn't help him enough.
Besides shaky chin (not quite glass), Jacob's biggest problem is that he doesn't handle pressure that well. Unless he is the one setting the pace he feels uncomfortable and makes poor decisions under pressure. And no one at 160 is setting the pace on Golovkin, including Jacobs.
Just a reminder to people that the ESB Chincheckers have spoken, and that there will indeed be an episode of "Shattered Glass" this evening.
