Really bad night for Golovkin. And huge Props to Jacobs.

The lack of the left hook to the body was glaring tonight. That's one of the best body shots in boxing, and he just didn't throw it.

 

See Kirk I have no issue with you, but you clearly tried to take shots at me in your thread which is why I posted that crying emoji. I remember we went at it once, and I'm guessing you're still butthurt over that or have some issue with me. Instead of having this condescending superior attitude, maybe you should try and have a normal dialogue with people you don't see eye to eye with instead of saying **** like "let me break it down barney style for you", or taking shots at people.

 

Feet still not completely gone, but it's getting harder and harder for him to get to his angle, his range, his spot. Golovkin used to nullify any leverage or opening for his opponent.

 

Watching it live I thought jacobs looked fantastic! He Controlled the distance, landed some good body shots, moved around well and most importantly he didn't let GGG trap him too much on the ropes while landing some crisp combinations while out working GGG in many rounds. Great performance from jacobs!

 

It'll be interesting for sure, particularly as this was just a weird fight from GGG's side of things. I just mentioned it, but it's worth repeating, the left hook to the body was non-existent tonight whether Jacobs was orthodox or southpaw, and that's normally one of his hallmarks. Why Sanchez wasn't getting in his ear about that from the get go, I have no idea. I agree that he (and his team) had too much of a sparring partner mentality tonight.

If Jacobs finds a way to neutralize that jab, he wins the fight tonight. And if that same GGG shows up in a rematch, Danny could win it if he gets that straightened out.

 

that's true the way you put it but GGG is 35 now past his best fighters retire normally at this stage for him at this stage in his career to beat a young prime champion (Jacobs is the best mw other then GGG in my imo) says a lot about him 3 or 4 years ago Golovkin was a different fighter.

The brook fight and now the Jacob fight shows GGG has declined a lot.

He hasn't declined at all. This was his first test, and Jacobs proved that GGG isn't as good as you fanatics make him out to be. Brook made the blueprint, and Jacobs delivered it tonight!
