People forgeting Golovkin is 35 years old?

He fought the best opponent of his career.

 

He definitely won this fight clearly. Anybody saying Jacobs won this is chatting absolute bull. Reminds me a bit of Pacquiao vs. Bradley 1.

I don't give a damn if he's 80. Just yesterday you guys were saying he was gonna walk through Jacobs in 3 or 4 rounds and that he was an all time great. Don't change that **** now since he's been exposed as the bum killer we all knew he was

 

The same version that beat Ouma in 2011 was the same version last night. If you fight him close, you can smother his power. He's the same guy he ever was. Don't give me that old **** now especially when you guys have been popping this bullsit about him having more power than Julian Jackson

 

You don't score on punchstats. Golovkin had dominant punch stats in a couple rounds and the rest were close.

 

Obviously Gennady Golovkin is old for a boxer of his style.
That was true last year and even more so today.
The boxers who are still prime at 34 or 35 are rare and box in more conservative styles. They can adapt their styles to age well, even improve in some ways.
Golovkin's never had that kind of style.

 

I think with Golovkin it is more a case of this was his best opponent yet than him being past it. For me personally he won by at least 5-6 rounds, I watched just earlier an didn't find the fight to be very close.

Kell Brook is also a top level world fighter and has a bit of an awkward style for Golovkin as well despite being naturally smaller. I hope we see Golovkin vs. Alvarez some time this year personally. I think that could be closer than some anticipate because Alvarez may become stronger when he moves up and is a bit awkward for Golovkin and he can take a punch as well.

Golovkin should win but I have always felt it could be interesting. Only thing with Canelo is he doesn't move his feet well like Jacobs does.

 

See I think you are wrong. When you fight a bigger and stronger guy and the #2 guy, it will be close. No KO in 5. These fantasies have to stop lol..

I recall saying years ago, that I felt Froch was past his best years before he had some of his big fights but nobody listened because he beat Bute. Now Golovkin has got arguably his best decision and people note his age because of the competitiveness. Nobody would be saying it if the fight hadnt been competitive

Rematch Jacobs is the only option left here now. Canelo & GBP should challenge BJS for his strap & the winners face eacother. (Blame Gee's patents fir his age) not Jacobs, Canelo's or Saunders fault dude is a year away from boxing's retirement home

 

People using everything in their tool box to use this fight to bash Triple G. Forget his age for a second. Let's remember Danny Jacobs is a good fighter, at his absolute peak. Who ignored the same day weigh in and came in way over the limit.
This was a tough test. Very close fight but I had Triple G win by 2pts first time I watched it live and by 1pt second time.
Good fight.
I do think he is decline but I think he fought a good opponent with a style that was difficult for him.
I still believe he will KO Canelo
