    Toney's stationary defense was pretty good.

    Lomachenko from the current crop of fighters knows how to defend while not being on the back foot.

    Yeah. I remember Paulie Malignaggi hitting him with his pillows with like an entire 10 punch combo flush on the face and Eggington just laughed at it.

    Ike Quartey whom Winky Wright stole that style from comes to mind. Maybe not an ATG however he was very effective with that style.
    James Toney is arguably the greatest stationary fighter of the last 30 years to come to mind.

    Great examples. I'd add Wilfred Benitez who was a master at defending in the pocket and while pressed on the ropes.

    Also, Whitaker was a terrific stationary fighter when he wanted to employ that style (he was obviously great with his footwork as well.) Same goes with Floyd Mayweather Jr and Bernard Hopkins.
