Prime Hopkins would box up GGG but the one today got KO'd out the ring by Joe Smith Jr.

Jacobs looked like the Jermaine Taylor that was outboxing Hopkins twice. Fighting the same way

Hopkins is a cut above GGG. No shame in that, but yeah, no doubt in my mind Hopkins wins this fight going away.

I think stylistically, the Toney that fought McCallum at middleweight would be even worse for GGG. The fast combinations, accurate power shots, and absurd counters would have sliced him up. And Toney could have controlled him from range as well, as he was simply a more skilled boxing technician. That fight would get really ugly really quick for him, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if Toney stopped him.

McCallum wouldn't fight head on vs GGG he can't beat GGG on the backfoot, nobody can,GGG fav fights are in chasing ppl,to beat GGG you need a high volume pressure fighter, everybody does the same thing fight off the backfoot get it thru your head it doesn't work

When? His team were trying to get old man Hopkins into the ring and getting plenty of flak for doing that instead of going for men in their prime.

gotta keep in mind the size advantage for jacobs was prolly a factor. but we really dont kno that for sure. he really didnt look to much bigger then ggg imo. but jacobs got hit with a couple really good shots that would have put most guys out.

ggg always has the power but b hop would of made a good fight n would of been a close fight on the cards.

I really don't know why people do this. A young lion doesn't fight an old faded legend, and then all of a sudden "he's scared of him", "it's a duck", "he had his number and he knew it" etc etc. It's like Wlad not fighting the corpse of Holyfield, and then people dissing him for it. I'm glad GGG didn't fight Ancient Hopkins. Que massacre! :boxing1

GGG beats Hopkins easily. The only question is, since Bhop has a granite chin, does he get KO'd or not. You guys who love Hopkins crack me up. Longevity doesn't equate to greatness. Hopkins was one of the biggest con men the boxing game has ever seen. He was one of the most boring fighters to ever enter the ring. Dirty, too. The boxing world hyped him because he got out of prison and turned his life around. He was a great success story. Thanks, but I'll have my kid emulating GGG, not Hopkins.

Truly a terrible post. Not worth responding to (partially because I can't even follow it thanks to your atrocious third-rate grammar).

The fighter of the year was old and shot now? lol.

Brook isn't a middleweight. Jacobs is a legit opponent. Lemieux, Rubio, Geale, Macklin weren't. They were just products of an extremely weak middleweight division. Geale, Macklin, Rubio, and Lemieux wouldn't be one of the ten best middleweights most years of the 90s. Guys like Macklin and Geale have close fights with an old shopworn Felix Sturm, while a prime Sturm was soundly beaten by a 38 year old Spaniard, years before. It kind of shows you how weak the division is now.

GGG by unanimous decision, it would be a bad fight to watch. Hopkins would hold, clinch, and do anything after GGG gets to him. 116 -112
