Sergey is the type of guy that it will backfire on Ward when they meet again though. He's the type that will Chanel that anger the right way.

 

Time to sue ward. Lennox got his rematch in court, Kovalev should follow suit.bi wish he had a real promoter instead of an infatuated milf, none of this would have happened.

He can't "just be fighting again" because he'd be passing on the chance to fight for the belts. He's next on the line for the WBA WBA IBF. He has one more month at the most to wait and see what Ward gonna do. Andre's options are ; fight Kovalev in june or vacate. Or try to pay Kovalev to step aside, but that won't happen.

So we wait and see.

It sucks that the rematch wasnt made for April. It would've been a great date cuz it will be a quiet month, theres no other PPV in April. May is Canelo's PPV month and June might be Floyd vs McGregor farce.
So again, it will slash from the PPV profits just like it happened last November.

I dont know what Roc Nation's strategy is, do they hope Kovalev is gonna get bored for waiting and say F this I'm gonna fight someone else lol ?

Wont happen, without the belts no one will want to fight Kovalev, with the exception of Joe Smith jr and Pascal again, who's a sado-maso lol

 

even if ward vacates he would still have to rematch Kovalev...the clause has nothing to do with the sanctioning bodies

Honestly man, what shots does he want to call? He made more money than the champion last fight.. the weight should be no issue. Only thing I can think of is venue but the fight was in vegas and was pretty much neutral ground. Does he want to fight in Oakland? Please tell me what else he could want? To walk out last? Be on the right side of the poster? He had everything in his favor already.. enlighten us please.

 

I don't think it's unreasonable to demand more if you won the first fight and now has the belts.

Ward is in the drivers seat now so of course the contract has changed.

Kovalev is getting all worked up over nothing. Ward simply has to take that rematch. There is nowhere for him to go other than early an retirement. Either way Kovalev will end up getting what he wants. He should settle down because Ward is probably rattling his cage on purpose so he opens up more when they fight again.

 

The rematch provisions were in the original contract. There is nothing to change. It is a done deal.
