I would compare it with the Ward Kovalev fight. It's pretty similar: Kovalev gets a knockdown and does more to win but Ward was considered by the homeland as the A side. Thats why he got the decision. Alot of people are still unhappy about it ( including me cause it was ugly ) anyways if Jacobs was the A side he was going to get the decision but he is the challenger and has to do more for a win. Golovkin dominated him with his jab , and took Jacob's biggest shots, scored a knockdown and won clearly. If Jacobs had the win I wouldn't be pissed of cause he basicly made his best fight and survived vs GGG. His lifestory is incredible too and could've been sold pretty well to the people that watch boxing. Anyways GGG obviously already won , it was a good close fight , I had it 7 5 for Golovkin. ( P.S. most of the people that complain gave the 1st round to Jacobs which is impossible. )
Same. I didn't see Golovkin throw nearly 100 punches more than Jacobs, let alone land 60 more. The whole reason a lot of us were giving rounds to Jacobs is because Golovkin wasn't letting his hands go, now they say he threw 100 MORE punches?! Gtfoh lol
It was a great fight.. I had it close... but Jacobs lost.. He did amazing and looked determined, well trained I think he tried his best... but he lost... Btw I was going for Jacobs... I wanted him to win. I think he gave GGG an amazing fight.. Two things hurt him... the jab... and the Knockdown... Just wasnt enough to get the decision... Overall I think GG wins a rematch again... Props to both and Jacobs needs to start thinking about taking his loss like a man doesnt look good to be complaining so much on the internet...
I will have to watch it on the replay on HBO, since I've been watching it online and obviously isn't the greatest quality on my laptop, but I did watch it in another language so wasn't skewed by the commentators atleast, either way. But does anyone think GGG was only giving 80%? We've seen him take shots on purpose, maybe his tactic was to keep Jacobs in the fight, to bait Canelo out!? Maybe far fetched but with GGG I wouldn't be too surprised.
So I finally saw all 12 rounds, I had Jacobs winning round 2 (which was VERY Close and could've been 10-10), round 7 (finally Jacobs being being first and outworking GGG), round 9, looks like Jacobs winning the round but GGG starts going to work with 1 minute left and nails Jacobs with a couple hard uppercuts, one seems to hurt Jacobs and buckle his knees and Jacobs clowns a bit with his hands down and gets nailed by a hard jab sending him back against the ropes, costing Jacobs yet another critical round and even his corner tells him he had the round and gave it back! Round 10, I gave to Jacobs, but almost seemed GGG was purposely sticking his face right in front of him, i dunno if he was just baiting him to throw to counter but I didn't see GGG doing this before that round, But jacobs round. There was a nice jab, jab cross that was probably the best punches of that round, but again GGG was just sticking his face basically saying hit it. Round 11, I gave Jacobs, but GGG won the first 90 seconds, and Jacobs the final 90 seconds, but at this point Im trying to give Jacobs rounds I think seeing how everyone said this was really close fight. 12th round, was pretty close but I think Jacobs did land a few more clean shots, Jacobs round. Jacobs won, 2, 7, 10, 11, 12. GGG wins 7-5 with an extra point in round 4. 115-112 GGG.
