"You've all heard of Sylvester Stallone, but did you know that he had a younger less talented kid brother who also made his acting debut on the set of Rocky and would go on to appear in such films as Rambo II, Get Carter, and Rocky Balboa? This is Rummie's Corner."

I had to chuckle a little after you started talking about Ali vs Frazier and Holyfield vs Bowe then pivoted with "this is not either of those very popular stories." This was fine but that's still one hell of a lead in.

You know what heavyweight fight doesn't get enough love, and this video reminded me of it? Floyd Patterson vs George Chuvalo. That match won fight of the year in 1965 and nobody ever talks about it. It was Floyd's best fight.

Hey, did you get the idea for this vid after noticing that Patterson fought both Archie Moore and Yvon Durrelle? Anyway, good work as usual.

Nah, it wound up being a coincidence that I did this one right after Moore-Durelle I. I was initially going to do one on Marciano-Walcott next, but I didn't care for the footage quality I had on that one. I was planning on doing the Patterson-Johansson rivalry at a later date, but since I had clean copies of all those fights, I just went with that one sooner rather than later.

Great recap of an exciting series of fights that deserve more attention.

I have always had particular interest in this trilogy, since I first read about it in the 1980s. I think since I love fights with lots of KDs, that was one thing that always drew me in about the Patterson-Johansson trilogy.

But also, as you said, these were not real ATG fighters, but decent HW champs who provided good entertainment for the fans, then and now. And your video provides an excellent summary of the key aspects of these fights.

Excellent work. If Patterson was fighting in this era, he could probably be a super-middle weight. He'd easily make light-heavy.
