Back in the day they don't eat enough nutrition. GGG will be stronger. Look at the size of his fist.

I usually agree with you, but not this time. Marciano had serious power. He had a hellava chin. And he damn sure wouldn't fight off his back foot. Marciano stops GGG. If he came up in this era, Marciano would be a light-heavy or a super-middle weight. He'd be a KO machine.

Stupid thread.

Golovkin has the footwork, the punch array, the jab, the ring smarts, the good looks ... and they'd stretcher him out straight to hospital.

Next thread: Mike Tyson vs The Gorilla.

Too subtle for this board. I was thinking "Pincai always posts sense. Is he on drugs today? How sad." It's a lot funnier on the second read now that I get it ;)

Marciano had a hell of a punch why? Because he knocked out washed up 180 pound fighters who were known for having a glass chin? Marciano had a hell of a chin why? When ever he was hit flush he went down. Also as I said he wasn't fighting good fighters. He was fighting mob controlleld fighters, washed up fighters and guys who were never good to begin with.

Even then he was knocked down by 1 punch by 160 pound Archie Moore, by one punch by 190 pound Jersey Joe Walcott (Mind you that both of these guys were way past 40 an past their primes) Ted Lowry a 170 pound fighter who had a career record of 70-68 loses dominated Marciano and according to writers ring side carried Marciano, hurt him badly numerous times and was a on the verge of knocking Maricano out. But would stop like the Mob told him to carry Marciano.

That being said why wouldn't GGG be able to hurt Marciano? If one middleweight could then another middle weight could.

For the people who say but Marciano is naturally bigger than GGG. Well according to the classic forum 5'10 180 pound Marciano could beat Anthony Joshua, Lennox Lewis, Vitali and Wladmir Klistchko, George Foreman, Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe, David Tua, Ike Ibeabuchi and every other modern size heavyweight because he is Rocky Marciano.

But anyway GGG is overrated but I would still say he has a great shot of stopping Marciano who is the most overrated boxer in the history of the sport.

The first detailed response!
I saw the stats and Marciano was small for a modern heavyweight.
Krusher would give him problems

1949-10-10 : Rocky Marciano 180¼ lbs beat Ted Lowry 177¾ lbs by UD in round 10 of 10
• Location: Rhode Island Auditorium, Providence, Rhode Island, USA
• Referee: Ben Maculan
• See also: Rocky Marciano vs. Ted Lowry (2nd meeting)
Michael J. Thomas of the Providence Journal wrote, "Marciano did not win the fight. This reporter gave it to Lowry, six rounds to four.”

The crowd of 3,696 booed the decision and some wondered if Lowry had thrown the fight. "There were some questions as to whether Lowry, who had come close to knocking out Marciano in the second, third and fourth rounds, deliberately bogged down in his attack after the fourth stanza," Thomas wrote. "Lowry stopped using his uppercut after the fourth. He went into a shell and only occasionally landed power shots. He seemed to be carrying Marciano."

In his book Rocky Marciano: The Rock of His Times, Russell Sullivan wrote the following:

"It was Lowry, not Marciano, who was on the verge of scoring an early knockout, stinging Marciano with two terrific rights in the first round and then rocking him with two mighty uppercuts in the second. By the fourth, a staggered Marciano seemed just one punch away from being knocked out. But then, inexplicably, Lowry stopped fighting and retreated into a shell despite warnings from the referee to open up and a cascade of boos from the crowd. To many, it appeared that Lowry was deliberately carrying Marciano. Was foul play afoot? Was Lowry getting paid to lose? Or was he merely tiring? Whatever the reason, a revived Marciano managed to rally in the late rounds even though many of his punches missed their mark or lacked force. On the basis of his aggressiveness and constant punching, Marciano won a unanimous decision from the judges. Most observers felt, however, that Lowry should have won."
Lowry, who earned $2,500 for the fight, denied he threw the fight. "I beat Rocky that night and that’s it," he said. "He changed his strategy in the fifth round and made a fight of it, but I won two of the last six rounds after winning the first four. It was a hometown decision."

Ted Lowry started his career at 164 and stayed that weight for 30 or so fights. Marciano fans are like Mike Tyson fans, GGG fans, Joshua fans and various others. So in love with their TV hero they act like these people aren't mortals.

Marciano fans may be the worse boxing fans I ever seen. Which is saying something seeing how stupid Tyson Fury, Mike Tyson, GGG, Manny Pac and Anthony Joshua fans are.
