    If Rose wins this, it'll be something like the third or fourth time they've had to "kick start" his career back on track again. Pretty remarkable for someone on Rose's level. Clever matchmaking I suppose.

    I'm from Yorkshire. Leeds fan so used to the likes of Bradford, Barnsley and Huddersfield making beating Leeds the centrepiece of their year, despite Leeds being a pitiful wreck for a decade. The frequently unpleasant trouble at the matches has always jarred with Leeds-Bradford-Huddersfield being essentially one big connurbation.

    I also spent 12 years living in the north-east (doing my degree, phd, post doc etc) so have witnessed the NUFC and Sunderland rivalry close-up - anyone from more than 30 miles away would find the protagonists interchangable (and equally unintelligable) but to the locals the differences are so profound.
