I was working tonight in Leeds and watched the fights on my phone but with the volume off...what happened with Morrison? He got smashed everywhere and didn't seem up for the fight at all. Reminded me of David Price. I felt the ref should have stopped it.
It was strange, it looked like he was in total shock he was getting hit, he almost froze at times, his nose was broken and that might have had some effect on him but there was so much wrong with his performance. I agree, I think he should have been pulled out or stopped.
Joe Gallagher put in two dreadful performances in the corner tonight. Both badly busted with zero chance of winning their fights from the end of round 7 yet Gallagher tells them to jab and move. They get virtually pummelled for the rest of the fight and incredibly he ony thinks about a towel with one round to go in the Crolla fight. Both fighters very lucky that their opponents did not deliver career ending punches.
At the top level I don't think you can just hope your opponent runs out of gas and steal the fight late on, that is all gallagher seems to have.
Should have pulled Morrison out that was a career ending beaten he won't recover from that imo he looked sickened
This thread wasn't created for hate at all, it was highlighting how bad his corner work was for MM and then how it effected him for the Crolla fight, there was no need to try and pull him out, he was getting beat but wasn't taking a pasting. If he gets back on track with winning fighters and instructions I'll be the first to praise him... but the stone cold truth is he's had an absolutely AWFUL year

I thought Morrison looked so out of his depth tonight it was strange, and this was against a guy who was a gatekeeper to British level, hopefully the lad can come again but he needs to learn how to defend himself when he's against the ropes because he just froze & was getting tagged at will.
It was a perfect example of psychological effect called catastrophe theory where a sportsperson just falls to pieces on the big stage due to their stress & anxiety.
