Coincidence or not: Boxnation had Choco and GGG losing, HBO had both winning

I just rewatched the GGG/Jacobs fight in HD and GGG won, it was close but no robbery. He was the aggressor throughout, never looked hurt, knocked Jacobs down and hurt him in at least two rounds. Jacobs was the bigger guy and fighting defensively, hard to look good against. Jacobs will undoubtedly go on to great things, he's a fantastic fighter. GGG's win was impressive all things considered.

 

There's also the possibility that the guys on BoxNation produced inaccurate scorecards (which isn't exactly unprecedented).

I had GGG and Gonzalez both winning close but clear decisions. I mean, I don't think Roman is the kind of cash cow that would inspire HBO to produce scorecards they don't believe in to protect his aura.

 

Lampley definitely isn't credible.

Lederman doesn't seem as sharp as before, but isn't a joke. Max is okay.

 

If you are saying that he never looked hurt and was the aggressor throughout the fight then it's obvious that you didn't really watch the fight.

Nah I am just stating what I observed. Maybe you define 'hurt' differently to me, but to me it means wobbled, hitting the canvas or in some way losing composure. Jacobs got GGGs respect but never BADLY hurt him. I know this to be true as I watched the fight and just rewatched every round.

Don't get me wrong Jacobs did great and there wasn't much in it but I think the fight fell victim to the syndrome where the supposedly invincible destroyer (GGG) was made to look human and the sense of shock creates the illusion that he lost. Similar to Fury/Wlad, I thought Fury wiped the floor with Wlad and it was a generally bad performance from him but on replay there wasn't much in it. In Jacobs' defence though, he just went the distance with GGG and almost won. I just don't think he did enough!

I totally agree. It's also why GGG and Roman are rated high p4p. You can tell who pushes agenda for who.

 

Jacobs was down on it's knees after the bell rang, on the 12th I felt Jacobs gave it all.

 

I think that Jacobs won that fight going away. He took it eight rounds to four..

 

I agree it was a total let down. I think Fury fought that way as it was his main key to victory but Wlad looked completely confused and gun shy.
