Joe Gallagher

Think it boils down to the fact that Joe's style of coaching and training lends itself to sub elite fighters. Some manage to temporarily grab a world title or stay at higher domestic / Euro level. That's no slight its far better than most. Looks how many British champs he's had. Prob the most out of all british boxing coaches.

Not everyone can have a GGG, Calzaghe, Ward, etc to utilize an argument can be made that those type of guys would be elite with any decent coach.

 

Thinking about the fight and training etc and it got me thinking, who's to say crolla didn't box to the plan and to the tactics joe wanted? Once the fighter gets in there it's up to him to carry out the tactics. Some times tactics go out of the window if the fighter doesn't listen or want to adhere to them.

 

I don't rate gallagher myself but he doesn't have any world class fighters.

 

theres far too many negative people on here who love to troll about gallagher and his fighters.

scott quigg and callum smith are very good fighters

anthony crolla , stephen smith, liam smith, paul butler, all good fighters


he's a qaulity trainer whos ahd a lot of success, he probably has the best stable in the Uk, its either his or Shane Mcguigan.

 

Arguably Adam Booth. Has Billy Joe, Andy Lee and Ryan Burnett.

He gets stick because he never seems to have a Plan B and can only get fighters to a certain level. High guard, absorb punishment and hope the other guy gasses. Left hooks to the body. That's it. No head movement, no use of angles...as has been said it works to an extent but not at the top.
