certainly not throwing him back in at the deep end are they lol. should at least give cornish some rounds as only dillian whyte has managed to stop him. they really need to get him in with worthy opponents after this so he can improve, or maybe him and his team are happy beating up cruiserweight and light heavyweights to make some money?
what are our thoughts on scottish prospects now? have the ones discussed at the start of the thread shown anything to say that they can make noises at domestic level? imo josh taylor, joe ham, sam ball, jason easton have started showing their worth look out for another guy from edinburgh, lee mcgreggor from meadowbank gym could well be a special talent david brophy has stepped up twice once against groves and a much more successful time against zac dunn where he picked ups commonwealth title
Agreed that McGregor does look like a force to be reckoned with, can box and seems to carry a bit of power - knocked out his opponent in the semi finals of the Scottish a couple of weeks ago as I'm sure you'll be aware. Think there are a lot of fighters, especially in the MTK stable that could go one or two ways when they step up. Even if a lot of them don't make it past domestic level which I think could be the case, there still leaves a lot of opportunities for decent local clashes, especially here in Edinburgh. Was impressed with Easton on Saturday night, and well, you can't really say much about Josh Taylor that hasn't been said. Can't do much more than he has done at this stage in his career and hope he continues to look as impressive as he gets put in with better opposition.
aston brown looks a much better prospect around 3-4 years ago, he took a bad beating in the wsb and took some time away. I hope he does get there because he was defo one to watch when he was coming through the amateur ranks
Great win for Easton at the weekend. Looks a real talent. Could be a big all Edinburgh fight with Taylor down the line? Stephen Tiffany from Edinburgh is another talent - had a few fights called off because of injury but looks like he will reach British level at least.
He's ready m8 so as soon as, I would like to fast track Aston with the experience he's had in international and WSB
i think that would be the right thing to do too, what weight will he be looking at challenging for titles at?
Lee McGregor is certainly very talented and good to watch. He has a good opponent in Jack Turner coming up in the Scottish Final however a McGregor win is expected. Aston Brown was a formidable opponent a few years back, be good to see what he is like now. Always thought he had the tools for the pro's. John Docherty is very good however can be quite frustrating to watch at times. Definitely more suited to the amateurs, not convinced he would do well in the pro's. Sean Lazzerini looks very impressive indeed, strong exciting fighter. Obviously Taylor is the best of the bunch.
