This wasn't the only tragedy over the weekend. A Scottish Muay Thai boxer died in Thailand. http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/gen...uay-thai-boxer-dies-probably-from-heat-stroke
Very sad. Hearing the circumstances this looks more like your average tragic sport death as due to massive trauma sustained by vicious beating.
Have u ever watched the mayweathers gym ??? Takes the **** what they put young fighters through.. Sitting there laughing while young kids wail away, abuse really. That is a gym u could pick up injuries in
Weight cutting isn't inherently dangerous, It only becomes dangerous when either A:done quickly with poor nutrition,B:you continue to drop large amounts of weight when your body fat is already very low leaving your body no choice to use muscle tissue and other lean body mass aka your organs for fuel. or the most common dangerous way is cutting huge amounts of water and becoming dehydrated. Unless you are 6 pack ripped you can still cut weight safely as you have body fat stores readily available, however you must do it in a safe manor thorough your camp, attempting to shift huge amounts of weight on fight week, is where it becomes dangerous. Seeing UFC fighters in sauners and sweatsuits the night before a weigh in is insane, I bet we don't see what gose on behind closed doors with some boxers. This is why i think it will be hard for kell brook to make 147 again, He was ripped at 160, To go lower he has no bodyfat to use for fuel and thus that weight has no choice but to come from his muscle mass and other lean bodymass.
It can be dangerous depending upon a lot of things. How fast you do it, what weight you are cutting from, genetics, etc. I was cutting from about 141/142 at a pretty low bodyfat percent to 132 in about a weeks time. When fighters cut weight the purpose is to be dehydrated for the weigh in in order to weigh as much as possible after. Being dehydrated means not a lot of water is around the brain leading to a knockout much easier. If this guy cut a large amount of weight and didn't rehydrate properly then that could have been the cause...
It's not like I was making this stuff up, he did not die directly due to boxing. He had other health issues he didn't know about.
Another tragedy in boxing another life lost My heartfelt condolences to his family Also don't forget his opponent either. Imagine what he's going through.
No. if you read what i had said, not DIRECTLY due to boxing. I'm not eliminating the facts of how dangerous the sport is.
Probably boxing related. Hell yeah boxing is a very dangerous sport. And for me it seems like headgear makes the punches feel worse. Even with headgear on your brain is still taking a beating everytime you get hit.
