Do you think casual boxing fans just don't understand how technical boxing is?

You have people seriously thinking that Conor McGregor can somehow "catch" Mayweather.

I guess that people just don't understand how hard it is to even touch a pro boxer, due to brilliant boxing defensive technique (even the aggressive brawling fighters have at least some defensive fundamentals).

Like Kellerman said, they think it's just two people throwing hands until it connects.

Is boxing one of the most underappreciated sports when it comes to technique?

Definitely just look at the two prime examples on here of Galvatron and James Smith.

Of course they don't. You have fans that watch this sport all of the time that don't understand it.

I wonder the same thing about a lot of the posters here. With the ulta-simple explanations the forum idiots tend to give, it's probably a no.

Pretty sure stranger things have happened on planet earth than Mayweather gettin KO'd by McGregor.

    No harm in thinking it!

conner vs pbf in talks and will sell as a PPV. That should answer any question you have about casual and understanding technical aspect of boxing.

"Wladamir didn't beat Joshua he was just running all fight long"

Meanwhile Wlad is clearly just outboxing Joshua who is plodding forward and missing.

Yes, but this is true of not just most sports, but most subjects. People can't help but speak with authority on things they know little or nothing about. Like when I meet a girl on a night out, I talk a good game but when we get home she soon finds out I'm not quite as well versed in the carnal arts as advertised earlier, oh well, too late now.

If Floyd lost it would be one of the biggest upsets in the history of boxing, don't know if the casual fans get it but the bookies certinally do.

Agreed. About it being true with most things and that people have to have an opinion on everything, even if they don't know what they are talking about, not about your lack of skills in the bedroom lol.

I've been a fan for 16 years and I still don't know everything. I get **** wrong all the time. Why should some casual fan who hasn't invested any time into appreciating the sport understand the ins and outs of technique when some of the most rabid die hard fans on this site have their heads surgically relocated up their rectums?

i know a lot of casuals who can look at a fighter and give a much more accurate assessment of the fighter than half the posters at esb.
