Can Wilder unify the heavyweight division?

Of course he CAN , we are wondering if HE WILL. He can because there's no such fighter that DW could not beat.

I think its called playing it safe....wait for a BIG MONEY unification against AJ (he hopes for it anyway) if he can get past AJ, which he will have confidence in as an unbeaten fighter (till he gets hit) then if his dream fight with AJ comes off and he gets by AJ then its all easy sailing from then on - Parker will be considered an easier win. But for now his handlers are keeping him safe till they can steer him to a risky unification for all the marbles fight that will be paying enough to entertain the risk of him getting KO'd for if it all falls apart at that stage. Just till then lets play with the dregs of the division to keep the illusion and hype train going......

 

He should thank his lucky stars he has one belt

 

A few things have to fall into place first..

1. Other heavyweights lose belts to soft punchers who preferably are Polish.

2. Other Polish Champs must agree to short training camp...

If these things fall into place I can see Wilder talking whats rightfully his..

Listen I'll be the first to admit Wilder's resume is less than stellar. (I still enjoy watching him knock dudes out with style) I think a lot of it has been unlucky though.

He was in London end route to Russia to fight his 2nd gold medalist. He was getting a 4 million dollar payday. This idea that he was happy it got cancelled is mentally challenging for me to grasp. 4 million dollars to improve his resume vs an old midget he was probably going KO.

OK so that fell apart. Him and Fury were building up their fight which I think both of them wanted next after Povetkin. I don't think Fury was motivated at all by having to fight Klitschko again. Anyways he mentally checked out so that fight fell through.

Meanwhile he had to take a quick turn around fight and picked Aerrola. (Can't knock him for not being active when healthy) Gets unlucky and suffers two major injuries.

All this has set him back a year or so behind schedule. His big fights are coming. Especially AJ, that's basically inevitable if they both keep winning.
