I hold GGG at a high standard. I want him to go the Trinidad route after the Oscar win. Go straight to 2belts at 154 create havoc and go up to 160 intended to do the same, and he would have been successful if not for an unknown ATG in Hopkins happened to be there.
No disrespect to GGG goals to unified all the belts, I think it is admirable. But the scenario above is what I would like to see from great ones.

 

It's a crime to ask the guy, who everyone says is the best to challenge himself. Like cut the bs I understand the business side of things prevents certain fights from happening when we want. But stop calling someone the best when they haven't fought a live challenge. Every single fight GGG has been in he's been the favorite in all of his fights by a large margin. Is it too much to ask him to challenge himself if he doesn't get the Canelo fight

 

Absolutely. I'm critical on some of the GGG loyalists here who are ready to anoint GGG to legendary status comparing him to Hagler and even Robinson. While at the same time arguing to actually hold him back in seeking challenges out of his comfort zone.
To me at this stage GGG falls short of a great status, let's see if he can change that.

 

The most irritating part about is it, his fans really do him a disservice. GGG is good, possibly great we'll never know because he won't challenge himself. When people ask him to challenge himself his fans get pissed. But those same fans wanted Floyd to move up to his 6th division and fight him. ****ing crazy

Mikey is on a mission and he knows what he's doing. He wasn't hating, he was trying to start a fight and Loma bit. Now it's up to him to move on up because this fight can happen late this year. Mikey got Linares this summer and after that, if Loma is serious then the fight can be made. Loma talking about a few more fights,(for what) he got the skills, all he needs to do is put on a few pounds and it's time to rumble. I really don't wanna hear a bunch of back and forth yak. Make the fight and end the suspense.

 

Here let me get us back on track, I got Garcia in a highly competitive match.

You make a good point that GGG is just a good fighter, as a matter of fact he is a very good fighter but that's it. I think that Jacobs was the true measuring stick as to the level of talent that GGG posses. In order to be considered great, he has to go beyond that and I just don't think that he can. Ward is out of the question because he don't have the skills and will probably get stopped. I don't think that he beats DeGale or Groves at 168 and there is a possibility that he might lose to Canelo. GGG is an A class fighter but he does not destroy or dominate A class fighters and that's the next step into greatness. Just my opinion.

 

Loma is the only person near that weight that I think may be too
much for Mikey, Mikey is special but Loma is a once in a lifetime talent.

 

What makes Loma a once in a lifetime talent?

 

Both guys made good points.

 

You never know when a few extra pounds will be too much though 135 he will probably still be good, if Mikey goes up to 140(while he's having those few more fight) though probably a bridge to far for Loma few fighters can move up in weight and be successful more than once or twice. Im with ya with the trash talk it doesn't excite me at all I just want to see the damn fight get made.
