Why did Ward say he would go down to 160 for Mayweather but not Golovkin?

Sounds more like a traditional catchweight where people meet in the middle. Ward goes down and Floyd goes up. Both at a slight disadvantage to make a big fight. If he went down to 160 for Golovkin it isnt meeting in the middle its just going down to GGG weight.

True, but he wouldn't meet in the middle for Golovkin either, insisting on 168 with Golovkin not getting any tune ups either. I think the difference was Mayweather is a massive payday. GGG isn't and therefore the man known as loaded dice Ward wanted to ensure that, as usual, the deck was stacked in his favour for any potential GGG fight. He sure didn't want that work on fair terms.

Because Mayweather sells well over 100k on average.

Because Floyd Mayweather is a welterweight who has never fought above 151 lbs., and GGG's trainer has said multiple times that he would fight ANYONE between 154 and 168, and even hinted about going to LHWT. Next thread.

Isn't it obvious? Floyd is the biggest cash draw in boxing the moment he steps out of retirement. He's a winning lotto ticket any which way for the fighter up next.

And yet, despite Abel's hubris, GG has never campaigned at anything other than 160. Restart thread.

Floyd would be lucky to sell these days with the internet streams available. Ppv is dying rapidly

Plus floyd doesn't have a dance partner to avoid at the moment to make the haters buy his PPV s in the hope that one day they may fight. He wouldn't sell sh.t anymore.

Because the payday is so good he'd risk losing his '0' for it by being drained to death.

I believe it's the same reason Golovkin would do 154 for Floyd but nobody else.
