Lolll imagine my reaction even now 14 years later. Back then I was a teenager, still used dial-up and there was no Youtube. Webpages back then were geocities hosted with poor image quality and info was limited compared to now. I was only 17 years old then and obsessed with Mike Tyson so used to spend hours a week researching. I found little bits here and there, threw in the word 'oatmeal' to give it credibility and I stuck it out there and it has been circulating ever since. The wierdest part has been that no one has ever presented a credible alternative all these years later despite all the info and video footage that has been available since
Funny if true. But regarding calories it's entirely individual. Friend of mine is training everyday for hours and he barely gets through 1800 cals and is shredded at about 85kg. He can bulk on anything over 2000. Insulin sensitivity, fat content , body composition, etc all change your set point. You can train your body to be more efficient on less calories with higher fat, less carbs and regular glycogen depletion with occasional carb loading. Conversely if you feed your body carbs contantly then your metabolism is always stoked. Which is why you hear of some getting through 5000 cals in a day
Priceless. Just doing a search on google its included in articles and is on forums everywhere lol it is very odd that it's the only information on his workout, nothing is there to counter it. that post left one big footprint, even funnier if people attempted to followed it
Wow, I rarely make a post but this just blew my mind. I feel like a just lost a part of my youth knowing this was all completely fabricated. I used to spend hours researching his training and had many a conversation with friends about it, no doubt spreading the lie, lol.
''Warm down" is one of the most spasticated misused terms in the fitness industry. I mean really explain how one "warms down" exactly? Its bloody cool down.
I don't have a problem with that point, there is nothing more to add, you were right on that account. Tyson was a thug, but lets not misuse terms.
How do you know that? I don't say that Tyson never did press-ups but we never see him press ups, dips,...? Have you a interview please?
Atlas and Rooney would have an idea as would Steve Lott. In fact Steve Lott AFAIK hasn't posted TOO far a picture as the one in the OP's post. I don't think it was rocket science. This was still the early 80's we're talking about. Road work, plenty of sparring, floorwork/drills/technique and tons of food. Rinse and repeat everyday for 6 years.
I'll try to explain as much as possible I know about Tyson's training First, we know Tyson run more than 3miles even when he was young Tyson do exercices like sit-ups, medicine ball abs with Kevin Rooney and others exercices, speed bag, calisthenics he don't do weights he said it in an interview in 1987, he used to eat eggs on sometimes, heavy bag, shrugs with 30kg barbell that helps him to hit taller opponents because of his short arms, I read Tyson's book he did some push-ups before prison but i don't know if he did it all time but and after prison he did 100 push-ups (advices by rub-in Carter from Tyson's book), did 500 sit-ups after prison and do some basket at prison, take hot tube after running, used to drink tea on sometimes,...
