Hughie Fury apparently going to be the heaviest he's ever been against Parker

According to Peter, Hughie is adding 1 to 2lbs of weight a week and will not only be the heaviest he's ever been but also the leanest.

Two things sprung to mind when I heard this. Firstly, someone who has done any strength training for a reasonable amount of time cannot suddenly start adding 1 to 2lbs of muscle a week without the help of gear, it's biologically impossible. So this is either an admission that the Fury camp are back to using PEDs or a complete lie, none of which would surprise me from the Furys.

Secondly, what's the reason for coming in heavy? Can't see how it's gonna help him against Parker, I'd have thought they'd want to come in light, be quick on the feet and stay on the outside. Surely they're not going to try and go toe to toe with Parker...

As far as I know Peter Fury does all the strength training programs for his fighters. I've seen the way they do resistance training in videos and it's awful. So I'm not surprised that he thinks it's a good idea to add 1-2lbs a week. Really a fighter should be doing that prior to a fight camp and then look to just get 12-15 round condition during the actual fight camp.

Parker can be a lumbering oaf at times. Movement should be key here, so I'm not sure it's a good idea to get heavier, although it might improve Hughie's punching power.

I'm not being funny, but can someone plaster some makeup foundation and concealer on Hughie's back ?

The zits are just too offputting to appreciate his boxing.

I wonder how many potential opponents of his have turned down the fight purely because the thought of clinching with him grossed them out.

Fair questions Mr LRR, the adding of muscle instantly sounds off I must admit.

Well apparently HF had this really bad acne condition where basically his blood was poisoned, now that's been treated and cleared and his body isn't fighting the constant infection maybe that has some drastic effect.

I'm not saying it's the case, just a suggestion. I would be interested to be told if that is possible by somebody who knows more than me about it (I know very little).

I agree completely about the weight and tactics, I thought exactly the same thing, HF would be light on his feet and use his technique but they maybe feel they might have to mix it up a little at points and don't want to be completely outmuscled and overpowered.

So basically Peter Fury has just confirmed that Hughie is using PEDs again...Honestly if this was another boxer there would be a witch hunt. But all the fury fanboys just defend them.

You can add weight that isn't muscle.

But yeah if this is LEAN weight, i.e not fat, then it is certainly steroids.

Course it is...if you average 1.5 lbs a week that is only 5 and a half stone of lean muscle in a year. Easy, healthy and natural.

Hughie was sick for a long time. He was looking good before, so is he well now? If so, the fight with Parker could be very interesting...........................
