Superb performance by Gvozdyk I was a bit worried about this one. He just destroyed a very durable hard hitting opponent with ease. Some of Gonzalez's bombs were whizzing by Gvozdyk's chin by a whisker but Gvozdyk's movement and combination punching was excellent. I'm really glad Gvozdyk sat down on his shots more than he did against Karpency and Chilemba. He's just moved himself into pole position as the best prospect at 175.

Look at Usyk's fights in the WSB at super heavy. Five round fights, Usyk fights differently depending on the length of the fight. Medzidohv beat up Joshua and had him rocking all over the place when they fought, watch the fight of Usyk schooling him. Usyk has always looked worse against smaller guys (Beterbiev, Nistor - who also stopped Joshua, and now Hunter).

I was also worried and felt that an upset was very plausible here, but he has really sat down as you said. The Karpency fight was a much needed fight. All top prospects need those fights.

Beterbiev is a brute? Based on what? Beterbiev is very technically sound, and he has brutal power. Gvozdyk is much faster, but he also comes with a suspect chin. I don't think he can handle Beterbiev's power.

And Usyk scored more stoppage wins in 12 fights than poor Paulie in 40+ fights.

Gzozdyk did what I expected him to. I'm surprised so many people slept on him after he out boxed the much tougher Chilemba. Compared to that fight Gonzalez is just a tune up.

lol I was too engaged in the Usyk vs Hunter fight to notice to be honest. But Gvozdyk's ring attire was, as per usual, perfectly colour coordinated. Gonzalez's was terrible, hence why he got his ass paddled something silly lol

Looked way sharper tonight than last time. Looks trimmer and leaner too.

Yup, seconding what dealt_with said regarding Usyk.
I feel Usyk is not used to another guy being smaller and even being faster. He's better against the bigger guys.

I still haven't shaken the feeling that Beterbiev may get exposed Chakhkiev-style if his plan A (and admittedly, it's an effective one!) doesn't work. I need to see how he handles a stern test with some durability before I completely buy in. Too bad his team can't seem to land the fights for him.

Bivol's a heck of a talent, too. LHW has turned into a hornet's nest.

I'd love to see Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev. Perfect contrast of styles.

The nail is so much better. Jab speed footwork and he has pop. I'd love to see beterbiev against Gonzales to see how he does. I think the nails speed and movement will give beterbiev fits. He has a punchers chance but he's getting a boxing lesson if they meet.
