Great ability, but he could have got Sosa out of there quicker, has a tendency to step back and admire his own work too much when he could be finishing the fight. First time I've seen him, was amazed how he was able to get around and inside Sosa, footwork tremendous.

He started one lower than Floyd, so he'd have to win one up to 147 to match him with belts in 5 divisions. However, on paper working against him, he has a 65.5 inch reach and is 29. I do fancy Lomachenko to be very successful, as he has already been, but people who make the super lofty claims need to understand opposition is everything. They are going to need years and years of "the Mikey Garcia fight" and "the Terence Crawford fight" happening and whatever is after that over and over with Lomachenko impressive continually before this can even start to become a serious debate. EDIT: Yeah, see, this thread title is more extreme than I thought. They are going to need years and years and years of better stuff than "the Mikey Garcia fight" and "the Terence Crawford fight" happening before this statement of "on another level than" can... actually it can never be a discussion whatsoever, haha. Mayweather is one of the best fighters ever, a little strange to claim one of those is "on another level" than any of the other best fighters ever. I mean, Lomachenko better be the clear GOAT when reflecting 20 years from now to try to make that argument. Trolls will be trolls. There probably gonna be much more of them in 20 years. Maybe there'll be someone claiming Rigondeaux was leagues ahead of Mayweather, who knows. Floyd Senior, sure.

I thought Sosa was very competitive despite being outclassed. At times he seemed to be able to time Loma and land what appeared to be big punches. There was one body punch Sosa landed that got Loma's attention, and even in the last round before it was stopped, Sosa landed a punch upstairs that backed Loma up. Despite Loma winning pretty much every round, I have to take my hat off to Sosa for making this far more entertaining and competative than many expected. I also didn't think he was really in that much trouble despite his corner and the commenators saying. Not saying it should have continued, but if it did he probably would have been able to go to the distance and maybe even had an outside chance of landing something big on Loma.

I also liked his attitude of saying in the corner "I'm going to knock him out" and I always hate it when a corner stops a fight when a guy has that type of a belief that he can still win, regardless of how one-side the scorecards were. It's one thing when a guy is clearly tired and has no self belief that he can turn it around, but for a guy to say "I'm going to knock him out" then to have it stopped a round later after what was not a Loma-dominated round as his trainer said it would have to be for him to stop it, was sort of disapointing. I mean compared to Usyk - Hunter, Hunter was in much worse condition in the 12th round of that fight, and that was allowed to continue with his sprawling around the ring, but yet Sosa seemed very able and willing to continue.

I think anyone would be just plain wrong if they think they're only looking at a guy on the same level as a Barrera-Marquez-Morales for example - neither of these three have this same aura from the purist boxing community. He's clearly an echelon above and looks every bit a part of the TBE level stratosphere. He's being compared to Whitaker and Pep.

I am getting this feeling that Jason Sosa is being viewed as a badass legit annually ranked guy that everybody totally had seen fight more than twice. I probably fancied his upset win over Javier Fortuna at the time to be more relevant than most of you guys did. He entered as a top 10 guy, and that's always good, but much much closer to 10th than 5th. Lot of lofty statements going around from a win over... Sosa (who is Lomachenko's 4th best victory).

Linares has been compared to Sugar Ray Robinson.
Wilder has been compared to Mike Tyson.
Broner has been compared to Floyd Mayweather.
Joe Horn has been compared to Buster Douglas.

Lomachenko's looking great. He is. And he's beaten four top 10 ranked opponents across two divisions. But geez, you need to hold your horses for the sake of already sounding silly and a potential future emotional collapse.

I don't know why you feel the need to compare...but what the hell I'll play along.

Floyd turns pro at 18 Vasyl turns pro at 25

A better comparison would be Pernell Whitaker. Both Southpaws, Similar reach and styles

    ^^^^ THIS!! :deal:

Loma actually gives the fans their money's worth. EXTREMELY exciting fighter. And he's actually getting better and better.

I sincerely hope Floyd and his classy family enjoyed last nights card :)

140 would be a stretch for loma...against guys like crawford and mikey....but who knows...147 would be crazy...but he does have ridiculous skills so i would never rule it out....would be real tough though

yeah...alot of guys like to gloss over certain things

for instance...moderator CST(who is an obvious fanboy of certain guys) liked to point out "mikey garcia couldnt beat salido in his 2nd pro fight...would never happen".....then you point out how an 18-19 year old loma wouldnt have been fighting a guy like salido in his 2nd pro fight either and he starts changing the subject......

essentially mikey and loma fought salido at the same point in their life...one just turned pro way later than the other...i like both ALOT...but fanboys will go out of their way to say ridiculous things
