I never liked Lummox, but this is nonsense.

Briggs, Golota, Ruddock, Mercer, Grant, and Botha all were either entertaining fights or explosive KOs. The Bruno fight was intriguing and suspenseful and ended in dramatic fashion.

    Ali vs Frazier I ..

most over hyped .. the hype leading up to it would have lead you to believe world war III was starting .. fight didn't give us the expectations leading up to it ..

most boring? ..easily tyson holyfield I .. just two guys clinchin and throwing shots on the inside.. i thought they should have at least made it toe to toe

Great pick. That's my vote too.

More recent I'd go with Peter/Toney rematch

Tyson/Holyfield 1 boring?:patsch Get real, correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt it win Ring's 1996's fight of the year? I could think of at least thousand more boring fights than that one.

Slappy Joe vs Ol' Popkins gets a vote from me for most boring consideration. My son fell asleep watching it and I darn near joined him.

I can agree with DLH vs PBF for over-hyped.

The Grant vs Lewis fight was pretty hyped by the American media thinking that Grant was the next coming and would walk away with the title from the British pretender. Fight was pretty one-sided and definately didn't live up to the hype.

Holyfield-Tyson I was one of the worst choices for Fight of the Year in recent memory, but yeah, that's an awful choice for most boring fight.

Honestly I didnt see a draw there but I can see how he got a draw, there were some middle to late rounds that Lewis feel asleep in, but honestly I thought lewis won, The reason I am replying to your post is becuase you said Lewis landed three times as many shots, which is true but he could have done most of his landing in some rounds such as Round 5 were he seemed to be landing at will but honestly when you look at that round even though he won it big.
Honestly looking at it again Holyfield was slipping and rolling with alot of those shots, but it was still a Lewis round, However when a fighter rolls with shots even though they dont land or dont land clean they look like they are landing which is why Compu box needs to go, a fighter that rolls with shots will always be at a dis advantage with the compu box system simply becuase its too hard for them to see what is actually going on.

Agreed, it wasnt the most exciting fight I ever seen, but it certainly wasnt the most boring fight either. I think only one reporter picked Holyfield over Tyson that night, I forget the guys name, Ron Burgess(spell check) maybe, the fight was actually better than most expected, you must remember, Holyfield just lost to Bowe in 95, and looked pretty bad throughout that fight, many were perdicting Tyson by early KO, not sure if it was upset of the year in 96' too.
