Normally showboating fighters turn me off completely. But in Loma's fight that wasn't the case. Vasyl's was not your typical stick your tongue out and shuffle your feet type of showboating. His antics were more of a physical commentary on the fights progression into a one-sided affair. In my opinion his imaginative movements were theatrical.
Don't have a strong opinion either way on Loma's showboating but Sosa bringing out the Ali shuffle in-between getting touched up something chronic amused me no end.
His showboating added to the drama of the spectacle and he did not take away any dignity from his opponent. It simply served to embellish his superior skill and control that he possessed over Sosa. It was like watching a Shakespeare play inside a boxing ring.
He's toying with these guys, that's frightening! He showed class when Sosa was falling through the ropes.
I've observed that people don't like showboating from competitors they dislike. Competitors they're fans of? They have no problem with showboating... Hypocritical? Maybe. I like a little showboating to spice things up. So I had no problems with Lomo's tauntings. I agree, Lomo's taunts were a commentary on the fight and he was right!!
It would've annoyed me but i think it was in retaliation to Sosa getting in his face and shouting at him
I don't mind it if you can back it up Plus he's brings a few new moves rather than the standard showboating so that's good! Not keen on the calzaghe style do your opponent up the bum type stuff though, cringe!
This. And to be honest he could have really punished Sosa more than he did in the last few rounds. Sosa was out on his feet, but wasn't going down. Loma, by peppering him with shots was sending a sign to his corner to pull their guy out for his own sake. Good thing they did.
Never been a fan of showboating. I'm the kind of guy that gets a smile when the boxer trying a bolo punch gets popped in the chops.
I enjoyed it. I really do enjoy watching Lomachenko when he boxes. The dude is so silky smooth. He's got that suave thing going on. Him and Linares are probably the most graceful boxers I've ever seen. Fan of both fighters.
Sounds like you dislike showboating from fighters you don't like and don't mind showboating from fighters you like.......meh
