It was a B+ performance because he changed the fight by going inside...something that I love that fighters do.

I think someone got in his head that he needs to perform for the crowd, and that led to his throwing far too many meaningless arm punches rather than waiting on counter opportunities from his typically impeccable defense, and creating openings for the R hook by shooting the straight L hand or half hook-r-cut to the body.

Yeah, he went 12 with Glowacki, but no BOOs were heard.

I think when he heard the poor reception from the crowd during Mchunu, he was given bad advice as to putting on a show.
It's not his style to chase runners or overpower fighters, but to let the openings come from his smooth transitioning combination punching and defense.

He looked like a club fighter at times last night, AS DID Hunter, a couple guys in the toughman tournament.

He needs to seriously rethink his career matching and head back to Europe where K2 can get him some better opposition without feeling like he needs to get a KO every time out.

Nah, he's fine. He needs to throw more punches from distance. At times he gets too close and forgets the jab. He started jabbing which closed the distance, but he needs to use his reach more.

Correct. His last two opponents showed countering skills rarely shown at heavyweight, and Hunter's gameness, speed and quickness, also seldom seen at heavyweight. Usyk would look much better vs a slower and less defensive type of an opponent.

Chris Bryd, who was shorter with less, reach, power, and height in comparison to Usyk had an excellent career at heavyweight, and won a belt.

    Just saying...

He got a lot of stick on twitter for his performance for some reason, I thought he did just fine.

Credit to Hunter too, he looked pretty good and had a solid game plan.

Should have been stopped in the 12th really and for Usyk to throw that many shots in the final round impressed me. He boxed well and showed he can make adjustments. Didn't looked troubled by Hunter really but took his time figuring him out, which is fine.

Really, really enjoyed that card and would be happy to see Hunter against some other decent guys

Really good, imo. First time I've seen him. Hunter did himself proud looking slippery and tough to deal with, which gave Usyk the opportunity to look good beating a dude who was no chump. Hope to see both again soon. Nice fight, fellas!

Just saw the punchstats - Usyk threw over 900 punches ... for the people that are saying he did bad. CW division 900+ punches ... that's a lot of **** , plus Usyk didn't throw many punches in the first 3 rounds.

He looked good, Hunter is a slick skilled fighter which may be quite foreign to Usyk. Usyk made the necessary adjustments midway through the fight and almost got a stoppage late in the 12th round. I don't care how great/good of a fighter you are when you're tasked to deal with a slicked skilled fighter you have a lot on your plate.

Personally I've only seen his last couple fights, but he looks a bit too sloppy and uncomfortable to me. He's good, but I don't think as good as I had heard. And I don't think he has the power for HW. I think several guys at LHW could move up and beat him honestly if they wanted. But for now he's still winning so we'll see.

I was however much more impressed with Gvozdyk.

I thought Usyk looked good against "The Bounty Hunter JR". A tough opponent to look good against much like the original "Bounty Hunter". Usyk got better as the fight went on and should've got the stoppage late. I look forward to seeing more of Usyk don't know how he'll be as a heavyweight though.

Usyk has some insane endurance. His footwork is pretty damn good too.
