Did Loma's showboating annoy or please you?

Shoving the laces in Sosa's face and forearms? Holding Sosa's head down?

It didn't bother me but it got a little excessive. I agree with those who point out the hypocrisy among fans too.

 

I'm not a fan of showboating at all actually made me dislike Rjj for a bit

 

Yes, and hitting Sosa in the middle of the back. He also sucker punched Sosa once when Sosa was trying to say something to the ref. Maybe not a foul, but not very sporting either.

I'm sure I could find more if I rewatched the fight. His favorite is definitely holding Sosa's head down and then looking at the ref like, "Are you going to do something about him?"

Would love to see Loma-Salido II to see what kind of foul fest it degenerates into. He said he would be Salido's teacher in the next fight.

 

That's a great way to describe well-done showboating! It's like a commentary and additional layer on a brilliant boxing exhibition. Like a great but difficult novelist integrating a suggestive meta comment into the fiction to allow us to better appreciate his meaning. Without one of a kind skill showboating is comical, but great skill plus contextual, seamless showboating like Loma, RJJ, Whitaker and not many others have been able to do... is a revelation of genius.

 

I love it, if you want him to stop his showboating, then beat his ass up or punch him in the face.

I hate it when professional athletes complain about showboating or running up the score. YOU ARE A PRO, you are paid to fight or play sports, if you don't like something - do something about it.

It's like last year when they complained about Cam Newton showboating in the endzone. Not a CAM or Panthers fan at all but I loved it, STOP HIM FROM GETTING IN if you don't like it. FFS, crybabies all over the place nowadays in pro sports.
