Duva: Request for 'Neutral' Judges for Ward-Kovalev Denied by Ward

how about saying/doing "we put in a request for, what we consider, neutral judges...it was denied...we are holding off on signing for this fight until that simple request is made"......but nope....classic duva spin....these guys are soft, salty, and primed to get beaten again...this isnt a good look for them

I have been telling everyone for years, it's not SOG Ward, It's SOB Ward.............there should be one judge from Russia, one from America and one from a neutral country, perhaps Canada?................the referee should also be neutral, but we all know that Vegas judges are crooked as hell, so are the referees................It's impossible for Kovalev to get a decision in Vegas with SOB's personal judges and referee and do not forget the criminal boxing commission. SOB Knows this. If Kovalev knocks SOB down in every round, Ward's judges will still give him the decision...................the crowd might boo, but the judges do not care $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ This has been this way for SOB's entire career. In the tournament, Ward had all the fights in his home town, he picked the judges, others had to travel from across the ocean.................SOB was allowed to elbow, headbutt, hold, throw low blows, anything during that fight. Kessler lost the fight by an illegal intentional headbutt, this headbutt was obvious, it came from across the ring, even the commentators mentioned it. And yes, SOB picked the judges and referee, you can say the boxing commission, but who owns the boxing commission? If he did not get his way, he would not fight.................now all Ward has to do is run, hold, headbutt, just be standing at the end of the 12th round and he will win, he does not have to fight at all, not even throw one punch...............this is getting like WWE.................plus, Kovalev is the draw, not SOB, SOB is boring a prima donna.............

 

When the fight was announced and Kovalev's team said there were demands of Ward's they had to accept I posted this is what I suspected it was. Of course Ward isn't choosing or suggesting judges, and he and his team aren't doing anything wrong. And it makes sense, as if he accepted the demand for neutral judges he'd be giving the impression that he agrees he didn't deserve to win. But there still should be neutral judges after the first decision! Will the Nevada commission on its own do the right thing and make sure there are three non-American judges?

this stuff annoys me...I do really like kovalev.....I don't care if he says hes gonna end wards career...calls him "son of kovalev"....or whatever...that stuff is natural and good.....but I hate this BS from duva....it wreaks of sadness

ward isn't some major star....kovalev is more fan friendly....hbo would prefer kovalev to win...it isn't like roc nation is some boxing powerhouse.....what advantage is to anyone for ward to win? if it was just straight up good ole Americanism then why wouldn't they rob golovkin when they had a real good chance? yes I know golovkin isn't Russian but a Jacobs win would have accomplished the same thing.....

 

Just hire the best judges, I don't care where they are from.

The idea that a judge being from outside the US or Russia guarantees more neutrality than one from either of those countries is absurd.

 

Kovalev in my opinion was robbed in the first fight. But I doubt that having 'neutral' judges for this fight would make any difference as this time I do not believe the fight will be close. Also it's not about judges being paid off but the way in which the judging is conducted on American soil.

 

Former HBO Boxing commentator Larry Merchant saw Kovalev as the winner of the fight against Ward. Merchant called it a hometown decision.

Enough said i think.Also im more concerned about the referee than judges,simply because the Son of Judges is dirty fighter. [So yeh he is Son of the Referee also then].

Also i dont wanna turn this into an offtopic but do u remember when Wlad fought Povetkin in Russia and everybody was saying that judges and the referee will rob Wlad and he hugged Povetkin for 12 rounds after that ? He was allowed to clinch and no warning,no point deduction,nothing.And that was when Russia was in war with Ukraine dont forget it also.

 

True. Russian judges paid by an American promoter for a fight in the US could just as easily hand a hometown decision to the American. And that's where the worry is in the rematch: that Kovalev is given it if it's close again, like Barrera-Morales 2 (I scored all three for MAB, but the second was really close). But assigning neutral judges is still good, even if it's only about perception, or preventing an obvious bias.
