Lol! I wouldn't doubt it for a second. Vitali was a different animal when he was fighting.

Korobov miscalculated his approach to Andy Lee and it cost him.
Quillin fought brilliantly vs Lee as did Saunders, knowing his R hand could put them to sleep if the gave him that shot.
Korobov hurt Lee badly, EARLY, but again, underestimated Andy's recoup abilities. Either commit 100% to get the ref to jump in, or continue to carefully look for the opening that Lee often leaves.

Korobov would likely beat Saunders since he is a far better fighter in almost every category except ring IQ.

But FWIW, it's definitely a fight worth watching.

Same should be said for Gonzalez.
And even if a fighter doesnt win a world title, it doesnt necessarily mean he's flopped on the pro level.
I for one, consider any top Am that realizes genuine title contention status to be a success.
The titlists are often-times wearing that crown because they are simply that good.
    They're not all Allakhverdiev's or Cesar Cuenca's.

    EDIT: But overall, nice rebuttal.

David Reid: The problem with Reid was that he had an eye injury back in the 95 pan am games, after winning the olympic gold his managers knew that so they rushed him and then left him when he couldn't fight more, the las fight he lost was one of the saddest fights I've seen.

He's a flop in the sense that he's one of the few fighters that once was the best p4p amateur then turned pro but didn't won a title.
First Teofilo Stevenson, then Angel Espinosa, then Ariel Hernandez, then Mario Kindelan, then Matvey Korobov, then Aleksei Tischenko, then Vasyl Lomachenko and right now Julio Cesar La Cruz.
As you can see only Lomachenko and Korobov turned pro, but Lomachenko is already in some people top 10 p4p despite turning pro 4 years after Korobov.

Yet still fought several of the best fighters in his time, won a world title, and made about a 6/7 defenses before losing it.

He simply had the wrong style for a fighter who's chin wasn't up for the task.

**** poor management early on, but I wouldnt call him a flop, even if he doesnt win a title.

But, IMO.....a world title is not out of his grasp, and I predict, he will win one sooner or later.

The thing is that he hasn't done much, he's fighting low caliber guys in 10 rounds bouts and he's not really young.

Jim Boyd was a national Golden Gloves light heavyweight champ, and Olympic gold medalist at the same weight (he actually won the LHW gold the Olympics right before a young Cassius Clay did). He turned pro 3 years after winning his Olympic gold, and went 2-2-3. One of those wins was against a fighter making their pro debut, who then beat him in the rematch. The other was against a 3-2 fighter.

Well he was undefeated and fought for the title, happened to face Jeff Fenech. Fenech was robbed in the LA Olympics, so McCrory basically won the gold that Fenech should have. When they fought as pros, the better man won. Hardly disappointing when you lose to a better fighter. Jerome Coffee, who was listed also lost his undefeated record to Fenech.

Chakhkiev has shown very little boxing ability as a pro, he just swings and loads up, then gasses. Bizarre for an Olympic gold medalist!

He looked good too in his early pro fights. Was homeless last time I heard but that was many years ago.

Completely forgot about Panchito Bojado. If I remember rightly, weren't people touting him to become the next Oscar De La Hoya when he turned pro?
