That was pretty intense...there is such a thing as silent war games and thats exactly what the eye contact was all about. Im confident Joshua will win , hes way ahead of his own time frame of number of fights and how to disect even klitchko tells me he gets the job done and wlad will then know a new talent has indeed arrived.
Femi well and truly put in his place here. Around 19.30 in when Wlad tells him to wait a minute be quiet, his only response is "okay". Like he's been told off by the head master. Didn't have a clue what to say when Nelson asked what happens if he loses. True champions never consider that possibility, and it took prompting from Wlad for him to come to that answer.
The fighters you mention are all a lot shorter than aj tho.and with klitschkos grab and jab that is a massive factor. How convinced is everyone the wlad is going to go for it and this obsession to win he has.if thats the case how come the first person with a pulse he couldnt grab and jab he relinquished his titles without throwing barely a punch in fear of being hit by a relatively light puncher. Wlad needs to let his hands go because sooner or later joshua will land and its lights out
Joshua is the same size as Wlader rather than being 2 inches taller like fury. So wlad will not find it difficult to jab and grab his head off. Dealing with fighters like AJ is wladimir's bread and butter. They offer nothing out of the ordinary other than brute force and speed. That works well against B calibre opposition, but a seasoned Lion like Wlad who has seen it all before, it will only play into his hands. From the sounds of your post, it seems you've only seen Wladimir's last fight, if you think he simply folds once he gets hit. Wladmir has been hit flush and knocked down by harder punchers and still got off the canvas to win. Joshua is the one who needs to be worrying about power. Dillian Whyte who we now know holds no power worth writing back home about, wobbled Joshua. Wladimir's left jab and crosses are legitimately ATG in level of power.
I am going back and forth on this fight I like AJ but fear Wlad will drag him into deeper rounds and bear hug him into a controversy win or AJ actually shocks us by developing nice footwork and hits and moves and wears Wlad down. Then again either guy can walk into a clean power punch and it's GAME OVER. I really hope AJ can pull it off and Wlad will retire or at least give us the Tyson rematch and then retire.
I have to say I like AJ in this. Wlad looked weird vs. Fury and not much better vs. Jennings. Now he's one year older. Yes, maybe passionate and hungry again but I think it won't be enough against a strong up n' comer.
I wanted to see more from Joshua here, he is getting sucked into Vlads game. Josh needs to show some spite and willing to rattle Wlad not allow him to stay in his comfort zone.
Great post. I concur. Wilder has been grossly underestimated in this forum for years now. I get the feeling Joshua vs Wilder will never happen because it's what we all want to happen. But, if it does, the HW division will be in the spotlight once again. I am going against the tide of this forum and sticking with Deontay but if Joshua wins its all good. Lets all hope this fight will happen.
The constant fist bumps are so cringe. If Wlad somehow gets KTFO and laid out unconscious, when he wakes up he'll give Joshua another fist bump and talk about how "his lil bro became a man tonight".
What makes you think Wilder is underestimated ? His lack of quality on his resume ? His lack of technique in both punching and footwork ? His falling over when trying to land his wild shots ? His being wobbled by sub par opposition like Molina ? There are many reasons why Wilder has detractors and they are all legitimise he like Josh has huge ? above his head. The Wlad fight will tell us exactly where JOshua is when do you think we will see the same from Wilder ?
