Rewatched Pavlik Taylor. Damn Kelly could bang. Would destroy today's Middleweights.

Pavlik would have given Brook and Lemieux, beat downs.

I actually believe Golovkin would have beaten them both at their best, but I think they would have been great fights to watch. Martinez I think had the potential to trouble Golovkin more earlier in a fight, but I think Gennady would have made adjustments against him no later than the middle rounds. And as for Pavlik, I think it would have been competitive throughout, but I think GGG's higher ring IQ would have seen him inflict more damage and win more rounds over the 12 round duration.

The Winky Wright that got robbed against Taylor, beat Mosely, and Trinidad? I could see Wright getting a decision with fair, unbiased judging. Golovkin isn't the wrecking machine some of you have made him out to be.

I think Golovkin would have beaten Martinez. I think Pavlik would have been the tougher fight for Golovkin due to his size, and length. I'd still favor Golovkin over Pavlik though. It would be a war while it lasted. People forget Pavlik was dropped by Taylor. Taylor was big, but didn't really have much power.

Taylor didn't have much power. Look at the smaller men he fought, who he couldn't finish. What huge puncher had Froch been hit by repeatedly to make you say he had an iron chin? Taylor wasn't a puncher.

In all of the posts I have glanced over (not many, so have probably missed it) nobody I have seen has credited Pavliks great chin

You saw Golovkin countering, and throwing in between Jacob's punches? I saw GGG covering up and taking a step back when Jacobs would throw a flurry. I thought Jacobs won, but I'm disappointed he didnt press the issue more. I think he should have threw more combinations because GGG was freezing up when he did. Sure GGG blocked some punches, but it killed GGG's momentum. GGG was having more success against Jacobs when he had the momentum going forward.

I remember some of the posters from Youngstown that were on here were saying the alcoholism started after the Miranda fight and got progressively worse as time went on and was at it's peak before the Hopkins fight. Obviously it ended up ruining his career.

A great chin doesn't get dented by Taylor. Ouma would be an example of a great chin.

Anyone can be hurt by a shot and its not always who throws it. Ottke who wasnt a massive puncher KOd Mundine who went the distance with Echols and who put Hopkins down.
Mercado wasnt a massive puncher but had Hopkins down twice.
    Sometimes it can happen
