He lost a close fight to Floyd when he was arguably still prime-ish. So if Floyd is GOAT, that puts Oscar up there as well. In Oscar's mind maybe something like "if it had been 3 years earlier", etc. Also, his protege/cash cow was approaching his prime and lost to Floyd. Again, if Floyd is GOAT, young Canelo looks better.

That said, Oscar was careful about being too strong on that point; he said "possibly".

 

The truth is most boxers and people whose livelihood IS boxing highly respect Floyd. Fans in forums are just that fans ... most of their opinions try to elevate the status of their favorite fighters. From 2000 on the best boxer of his era is Floyd period. The only other fighter for consideration is Pacquiao. We didn't need a some mythical P4P fight to figure out who was better between the two. Cinco de Mayweather proved who was.

I certainly hope he would! He's a pro fighter that competed at the highest level. If I was able to beat him, the sport of boxing would be in some real bad shape! But if I trained real hard, I'd give him a run for his money!

How long was Fury's reign as heavyweight champ again? All that you said might be true but, we might never know because he refuses to fight. Up until today I thought a fighter, especially one being considered the best ever, was judged by real accomplishments. One can argue what someone did in the ring, but I cannot argue someones opinions. If you feel he's the best by what he might do in the ring instead of what he has done in the ring, more power to you. I just disagree!
