Does Wlad have one last great performance in him?

I'm rooting for Joshua for the sake of heavyweight boxing. What a truly shitty way for it to enter a new era if the hometown favourite would get knocked out or lost a decision ifront of 90000 fans and millions watching around the world.

But I Think Wladimir will win since he's to experienced, his style on paper matches up well vs Joshua and I don't think he's shot like some people like to assume.

I'm with Ahurath, I don't think Wlad is as washed up as people make out.
The win over Jenning, although he looked poor, he won in his first time out of Europe since AJ was a toddler...
And people need to realise Tyson Fury is just REALLY good and Wlad couldn't hit him.

This fight is a shootout, it's whoever lands first. May the best man win.

 

I'd laugh my head off if Wlad destroys AJ in one or two rounds.
I suspect that's what Wlad is going to try to do.

 

Ya what people forget us wlad is at least a top 5 atg great heavyweight, he just had the misfortune of running into the boxing savant/god named Tyson fury

 

One thing to keep in mind is that 6 of Vlad's last 7 opponents were undefeated. Yes, AJ is different. And Wlad is older. But, this is Joshua's toughest test by a mile, on paper. I think if Wlad lets his hands go, he'd probably win. He's probably the bigger puncher. But he just doesn't have the right mentality, and his output is dreadful.

 

Joshua TKO. Happy to be wrong tho but all the stars are aligned for the changing of the guard here.. Huge, athletic gold medalist? Remind you of anyone? Undefeated with huge hype & expectation.. Fury had the chance to run with the new mantle but he can't be arsed it seems. It's just the natural/cyclical progression of HW.. I am at peace & totally comfortable with AJ beating a 41 year old WK.

On paper, he's got this.

In the real world he looked bad vs Jennings and awful vs Fury and AJ is on a roll.

So, who knows. What gives me hope is that AJ is not a slickster mover, and seems to me to be quite hittable.

Let's put it this way. AJ has to fight his best ever fight to win. But I think he can do it.

 

When you get to the age of Wladimir you can look your age overnight depending on your opponent. Wladimir looked shocking against Fury, but Fury used his footwork which Wladimir just couldn't handle. Joshua doesnt have that kind of footwork nor head movement so he'll be more of a target, but on the other hand Joshua is more explosive, which could shock Wladimir and shock him quick.
