If you see it from this perspective, him (Joshua) winning is going to be huge for him as this will add a big name to his resume and give him great exposure and will make him a big star,if he wins.
If he loses though, then he would lose to a Wlad who's in his 40's and clearly past his prime and that will hurt his stock badly considering the hype he has.
He gets the extreme of both outcomes.

Whereas for Klitschko it's low risk and high reward. If he loses then he would've lost to a great up coming talent while being out of prime. If he wins then it adds further to his legacy by beating a dangerous fighter and coming back from a loss while being out of his prime. He's already an established legend of the sport and he has the least to lose.

    Agree?

Perfectly stated. Wlad can't lose. He's fighting in front of 90k fans making millions. His legacy already established

AJ is taking a big risk here. He MUST win.

Actually, I think its nearly exactly the opposite. Low risk, high reward for AJ. High risk, Medium reward for Wlad.

AJ: He wins, he gets an atg on his resume and the division runs through him. Enough said. He loses, it's just seen as too much too soon for him, and he's got a TON of lucrative fights in GB to put him back in contention and could still go on to become an atg like Vitali did.
Wlad. Reward isn't actually nearly as great for Wlad. If he wins, it will be deligitimized by saying AJ was overhyped and not on his level. He'll have to hope AJ pulls a Vitali to improve the wins significance down the line. Then, he'd still have the hard, maybe impossible task at his age of unifying the division in front of him. Meanwhile if he loses, especially if he loses bad, it will be his 5th loss, and I don't think you can ignore that entirely, even at his age. In my book, he'd be solidly behind his brother in legacy on account of all his losses.

Yes Wlad has nothing to lose here.

    Joshua has everything to lose.

Yes I agree it's going to be interesting come fight night if Joshua can't get him out early. The pressure is immense on Joshua really in friend of 90k people all expecting a conclusive Joshua win.

I think its to a degree high risk, high reward for both but think it is lower reward for Joshua than Klitschko.
If Joshua beats Klitschko early, I wouldnt be shocked if Wlad retired and then you would have many on here say Wlad was shot and coming off a loss, whereas if Wlad beats Joshua it could be argued as Wlads biggest win (thats not saying it would be his biggest, but I would guess there could be some debate on that subject).
If Joshua struggles there will be comparisons to some of Wlads other fights, whereas if Wlad struggles I would guess and understandably that it would be argued that Joshua is over a decade younger

Think it is high reward for Wlad, and decent reward for Joshua
Think it is high risk for Joshua if he losses but not as high risk for Wlad if he losses at this stage

You know what Wlad should do to see if he has it anymore?

fly Charles Martin over to training camp and spar him like a real fight. Then see if he can knock the bum out in less than 3 rounds...if he can't he is spent and we can forget this fight.

No, it's not high risk for AJ.
Sooner or later AJ will have to justify this hype the promotional/publicity machine behind him has created. Klitschko is a good place to start.
If AJ loses they will have to reduce the hype a bit but they can spin it as a loss to one of the ATGs of the sport. A loss to Klitschko isn't a career ender. Look at all the highly-rated heavyweights out there who've already been defeated by Wlad.

Every fighter has to step up eventually or else they become a laughing stock. That's just the ordinary risk of being a career professional. Not "high risk".

It's higher risk for Wlad because he's 41 years old and he hasn't had a win in two years. He lost his last fight. Two losses in a row and he'll have nowhere else to go really, he'd retire or carry on as just another old name hanging around boxing.

It's probably high reward for both fighters.
*Wlad gets back on the winning track and his a couple of his old titles back if he wins.
*AJ gains the credibility he desperately needs with a win over a recognized boxer and becomes a unified WBA-IBF titlist.
*Both of them get paid millions win, lose or draw.

Low risk for Joshua, he has a rematch clause, he is young, if he loses it will not hurt his career, if Vlad loses, it will end his career depending on how he loses, but risk for him, no risk for Joshua...................

I agree completely and think Wlad has missed a trick not pointing out more, the pressure Joshua is under to perform and win.

Casuals think Wlad is still a threat so this a win win for AJ.

Boxing fans know Wlad is past it so its a win win for him too.

Can I hope for a double knock out ?

There's a little more nuance to this for Joshua. He's been marketed as this unstoppable wrecking ball of a boxer, akin to the way Tyson was promoted, and he was never the same after his first defeat because the myth was forever busted.

The Wlad fight is Joshua's crossover event too, when many casual sports fans (and non-sport fans) will get their first taste of him in action. If that ends with him on his back, a defeat will harm his future career not because he lost a fight to an ATG but because the runaway train will have been halted and the passengers who have just got on, will likely get off.

In a sporting sense you are right, it's low risk. But in terms of his career in a business context there's much more at stake. Therein lies the main risk. How will they get the moneymaking casual tranche back onside, when they've seen him beaten - maybe knocked out - by a 41-year-old they might know little about other than recognising the name?

It doesn't mean 'career over' clearly, but there will have to be a realignment in terms of what he can achieve financially. The loss of the belts will also put Matchroom at a disadvantage when negotiating with Parker, Wilder et al. There's a lot on the line, really. Wlad doesn't have to worry about any of this, it's his swansong...

All of this pre-fight BS doesn't matter.
