Seems like it. if you look at all the youtube channels such as Dontae's , then about half of all his videos are about Errol Spence. All the American channels are not stop talking about him and hyping him callung him 'the truth', talking like this fight is the most important fight for years.
It's the most important fight for him but not for the USA. I'm very excited to see Spence in the ring with a guy who is his size. I think Special K has had time to slim back down without weight being an issue he just best protect that eye that GGG crushed. 50/50 fight IMO
Hype through boxing enthusiasts channels. Not through main stream. One fighter doesn't define a country. It won't effect American boxing anymore than it did when Porter lost the strap to Brook. But I'm a firm believer that Spence is coming home with the title
What's up with the Lacy B.S.. JL wasn't close to the Spence hype, by true fans, lacy always had way too many holes before fighting a single world class operator.. Spence is on a different planet talent wise and the 2 fighters that were supposed to "test" him got absolutely annihilated. Brook is in for a very very hard fight. Spence IS the TRUTH!!!
It's weird how Spence is being pushed as the 'future star of boxing'.. But where is the support for Keith? Keith has been in and proven he's the best or top 2 best WW and he's a year older than Spence Keith likes to box a bit more and move, so it's clear to see why Spence style gets more appreciation I guess
The US is the home to most world class boxing events and boxing is so marginalized here that virtually no fighter carries the country on their back. On top of that it's an individual sport. It's nice to see the UK public support their fighters with passion, but no one fighter in the US is ever going to invoke the same nationalistic or patriotic feeling. He just has a lot of hype because of how he finishes fighters. People are always looking for the next big thing.
I don't see anybody hyping spence like you suggest. Anybody who knows anything about boxing knows this is a 50/50 fight.. Nothing more, nothing less.
Depends on how well he can crossover into mainstream sports culture. Another Ray Leonard or DelaHoya would do wonders for US boxing. Does Spence have that kind of potential?

Not at all, he's not even the best or most known American in the division, with Spence it's marketing but Thurman is the forefront of America, regular tv, showtime, undefeated and articulate and has put in interesting fights consistently. And Porter is the worker right behind him. Spence has a Floyd push, that's really it. I don't hear more people mentioning of Spence than Keith at all.
I mean the hardcore boxing community are really hyping him, all the many black youtube channels,forums, etc.
Trust me. I remember reading forums and boxing magazines at that time. Lacy was HYPED!!!!!!!!!!! Lacy was the future of the sport according to a lot of people lol. Lacy destroying Robin Reid was a much better win than anybody Spence has beat.
This here. I think there are some folks that could not care less about what is a top tier matchup and likely great fight and really just wish Spence to be overhyped and then fail dramatically so they have a new anti-U.S. troll pony. They call themselves fans, but i would disagree.
