Joseph Parker vs Razvan Cojanu- WBO Title May 6th, Auckland, NZ

Yeah a title fight against an unbeaten mandatory and the cousin of Tyson. The WBO would have granted a non title fight under the circumstances. Your fooling yourself if you think a "title fight" against Cojanu is better than a non title fight against Browne.

 

He's just trying to sell the fight by saying that. You have to remember it was a big risk and very hard for them to stage a world title fight in New Zealand. If this fails they'll struggle to ever host a world title fight there. NZ refused funding for the last 2 of Parkers fights, Samoa had to step in and fund him and if this fails Parker will likely never defend in front of a home crowd again, this card needs to be a success for them.

 

^ pretty much that, but to be fair they are pushing **** up a hill from the moment Fury pulled out. I can't say how annoyed I am about their antics, they really seem to be trying to wreck the sport and try and make it seem like other people are to blame.

 

People are being supplied what they have already paid for. A WBO title fight, and the blame for it not being against a higher rated opponent rests fairly and squarely on the quitting Furys.

Why on earth would the WBO champion Parker embroil himself in the mess the now unrated Lucas Browne finds himself in for God's sake? It is clearly you who is fooling themself.

 

Lucas Browne deserves a beatdown but not the payday so I'm a little torn as to whether or not I'd like to see that fight.

 

Because he needed a fight. Browne was willing and able. People paid for a fight between Parker and his unbeaten mandatory. Not this joke of a fight.

 

I've been a Lucas Browne fan for years. But I can't see why the WBO champion Parker would want to embroil himself in the mess the now unrated Browne finds himself in. Would have been a just plain dumb choice for so many reasons.

 

Who is to blame for them not getting a fight between Parker and his unbeaten mandatory?

May I ask why? Even before the failed drugs tests I wanted him out of the title picture as I saw him as a glorified doorman taking up valuable positions in the heavyweight division without looking to really do anything.

 

Why what? Why I followed Lucas Browne? Or why it would be a waste of time Parker fighting him on May 6th?

 

Those people included Team Parker. Browne dodged Parker already, twice at least - and now is unranked, if he had stayed clean and not put all his eggs in the WBA basket then this may have happened.

 

Have I ever said the Fury's weren't to blame? But Browne put his hand up and Wilder also suggested cancelling and working on a unification for July. Have Duco offered refunds for those no longer interested? Or Sky on the PPV or a discounted rate?

 

Why you have ever followed Browne.

 

There would be no point claiming the Furys aren't to blame.

As for Browne. He is unranked and damaged goods. A totally pointless fight for a guy holding the WBO title.

Parker has been in pre-fight training mode since the start of the year. Had you forgotten already the Furys had already delayed the fight and May 6th was the rescheduled date?

Why on earth would Parker entertain the thought of another delay in waiting til July for Wilder? That would entail him being in pre-fight training for 6 MONTHS!

You will need to keep your eye on the news for answers to your other questions. But what I can tell you is people paid for a WBO title fight and they are getting one.

 

Because he's a fellow Aussie and for a guy who came into boxing late he was carving out a useful career. He has since been suspended and rightfully so.
