I suppose Kevin only has one good round in him. All Pulev though still not incredibly effective.

 

Johnson looks pretty sharp.

Wilder will avoid him like plague.

Not sure why they picked Johnson... Slippery, tough and good mechanics. May have a sparring partners mentality but someone like him is always going to make a featherfisted 1-2 artist like Pulev look bad. Malik Scott would probably be the same story. Terrible fight through and through... Johnsons quality, the meshing of styles... Ughh... A crude giant durable giant would have made for a much better fight. At least it would have been a jab 1-2 clinic.. Instead of an incredibly cagey and boring affair like this.

Kevin Johnson changed his strategy, now more in the center of the ring jabbing. Doing better in the first half of the round. Pulev not doing much. Not a lot of solid blows landing from either. Kevin now going to the ropes. Pulev trying to salvage the round, lands a right. Barely edges it.

 

Is there a worse clash of styles than this in the HW division? Pulev vs. Scott would be woeful too, imagine how bad a fight with Scott and Johnson would be....

Yeah as soon as I heard about this fight I was like why. Both are horribly static fighters with cement blocks for feet who rely on their jabs and with Johnson's survivor mentality this was always going to be an unsatisfying fight.
