I agree with the stoppage, especially also considering Wlad's age. Good job by the ref I have to say. Crazy they throw in a novice ref like that but he did very well.

That was pre-Clinchko. Wlad was turned into a clincher to protect his egg chin by Emmanuel Steward (RIP) . Ever since he was in boring fights but he won by clinching, leaning and jabbing. Sure Wlad fought a lot of bums too, that helped, but he would have beaten Sanders with punch-clinch-hug.

 

Pretty much and I guess too these people who don't know boxing it is the greatest heavyweight bout of all time. Most of the bout neither were doing much. When Wlad landed a half decent punch AJ went down. When AJ landed a half way decent punch Wlad went down like usual. Between that neither did a damn thing.

 

Corrie Sanders didn't give Wlad a chance to hold.

 

Because he is a nobody who has fought nobody that brings no dollars to the table.

Think about how big the AJ Vs Fury fight would be. Who cares about Wilder. Let Wilder fight Parker and then things get more interesting.

Fair enough. The adrenaline was pumping during the fight, so might have scored some rounds wrong. I just don't see Klitschko ahead going in to the 11th round, but it could very well be even. Some of the rounds were close.

Just annoyed by some of those saying that Klitschko can't leave it to the hands of the judges. He could - if he just won enough rounds, which he didn't. Even if he won the last two rounds, you can argue it was a draw.

Nevermind. Joshua won by KO, so no one has to complain about the judges.

I've never been a fan of Wlad's style (who is) but to deny his credentials is just silly. To dominate (yes, dominate) the heavyweight division for a decade is so impressive. Even if it was a weak division, to be the world's best heavyweight boxer for that long is outstanding, of course he's an At. Most informed people acknowledge that even if they hate his style and don't want to watch his fights! That was why tonight was so enjoyable, none of us expected Wlad to get into a war and show the fight he did.

 

HW FOTY candidate imo. So happy for AJ but feel bad for Wlad because it was a class fight from Wlad and soo much respect gained. I want Wlad to retire rather than fight on. Should go out on that fight.
