Spot-on. This is the best possible fight that Joshua could have had to boost his development. He will improve immensely therefrom and the improvement will be evident in his next fight.

The difference is Joshua has better than/at least as good technique to a lot of guys who have landed on Wilder whereas Deontay has arguably less skill than the likes of the also crude Whyte and certainly less than Wlad.

The fight was then way too early.

But he found a way to win.

No criticisms can be lodged at AJ tonight - what a learning experience. One none of the other hw champs have had

Looks beatable by who???? I guess Fury because of his awkwardness and Wilder cause of his power (possibly Haye if fit ) but no one else has a shot....no one, not bloody Povetkin, Pulev or everyone's favourite boogeyman Ortiz.

Yes he did look beatable, but who in the division can capitalise on that? Fury's out of commission, Ortiz is an old man, Parker has a ton of flaws himself, and Povetkin's likely a shade too small. There's literally no one else in the division that has the tools or the style to beat him right now. He's also still improving and refining his style. A very scary proposition indeed.

Good post. I want to see Wilder land that right that Wlad landed.

Nobody wants to see Headvetkin or Pulev. Ortiz has no chance. There are only 4 hvws that count. Wilder Parker Furys fat sorry ass and AJ. That's it. I wanted the 41 year old to pull it off but AJ showed a big big heart! Great learning experience.

Stylistically only Fury can beat Joshua, no one else in current HW division.

Wlad looked good today cos he's seen AJ's style too many times and at points made it look easy. But inevitably you gotta take shots and Joshua has monster power.

I would like to watch AJ vs Povetkin. Bad night for Sasha, AJ stops him.

Pulev looked slower than ever yesterday, easy work for AJ

Beatable by who? Nobody can stand up to that power.

Before Klitscko got KO'ed it was one of his best performances of his career.

He looked beatable. And if Wilder lands his right the fight is over. Wilder would've finished Joshua if he had him hurt. He's lucky Wlad was 41 lol.

Only Wilder has a chance for me against Joshua with his as he's only going to be better after this fight.
I know they're heavyweights and he's a big guy but can't see Fury keeping Josh off him for the 12 round even if he did come back in some sort of shape.

Agreed. Joshua's uppercut which took out Whyte and turned the fight against Wlad really would be a nightmare for Povetkin. But it's a fight I'd pay to see.

As for Pulev he has nothing but his jab and that ain't enough. He doesn't have the power to hurt AJ, he doesn't throw enough to out work him and his movement is non existent, he makes AJ look like 60's Ali in regards to movement. And I see AJ's left hook and uppercut being an issue for Pulev. Honestly don't think Pulev goes beyond 6 rounds.
