Parker has actually taken plenty of bombs, his defense has not been all that good. Admittedly never by anyone as big a hitter as Wlad, but evidence so far indicates that Parker has a really top notch chin.

I have followed both Parker and Joshua for a long time, I didn't look at boxrec.

As a Parker fan, I am just concerned that his good chin will mean he takes a brutal beating if fights Joshua. Better to get KO'ed early rather than rounds of taking heavy blows.

It was a close fight. Let's face it, at current levels Parker isn't likely to beat Joshua unless Joshua underestimates him or gets injured. There's no shame in that though, Joshua is clearly the best HW right now.

But Parker is a warrior, he will try his best, and he's a gentlemen outside the ring. Nothing to dislike there.

Yer, I'm kinda surprised people forgot about that fight though already, a guy who could barely get past Takam would land combos on Joshua, yeah, good luck with that.

Have you seen the fight, I am pretty sure he didn't knock a Steve Urkel looking Bambi AJ down let alone out?

Think AJ has improved since too

Yes, the fight is on YouTube. It was a legit knockout, but I totally agree that Joshua has improved a lot since.

Gotta love the video that showed Parker rooting for Wlad, even though it was in his interest to root for AJ. Parker's got the type of character and ambition we need more of in boxing.

Yeah Joshua was moving his head a lot more which was an improvement I saw. Wlad who carries a good cross and jab was seeing a left hook oppertunity but he couldnt land it due to Joshuas bobbin.

Completely agree with what u said. Parker hasnt got the power and footwork to keep AJ on the backfoot like Wlad did. AJ ko in 4 IMO

If AJ jumps on Parker and can't finish him then Parker could definitely get a fatigued AJ out of there. Wlad was too buzzed and @ 41 couldn't recover properly and was too timid to finish him. A young durable fighter like Joe won't be so timid!

I make AJ a huge favouite and wont argue with people predicting an early nights work, but this is heavyweight boxing, 1 punch can change a fight!

I mean...his speed's decent. Whether he could make good on that promise depends on his willingness to actually stand in and risk it with either of these big punches with his largely untested chin. (which we wouldn't know until the moment came)

Parker won comfortably against Takam. He gassed in the middle rounds but was still taking rounds off Takam during that period. Other than that Parker cruised to victory. The Ruiz fight was also a clear win for Parker as Ruiz barely caught him despite what many people say, Parker also showed superior fitness during the fight where he looked like he could have gone many more rounds unlike Ruiz.

Having said that, I do put AJ as a firm favourite against Parker at this stage.

Getting chinned by AJ or Wlad doesn't mean you can't take a punch tbh?

Nobody is going to take the beating that AJ dished out on Dom Breazzy

Only taking 1 punch from either and getting sparked out probably isn't a good look though

I think Joe will prove to have good durability, whether its better than Breazeale or Whyte is a different story.

I think Joe has more tools to do damage than both Whyte or Breazeale, but Whytes left hook might be the biggest punch of the 3 and Whyte had a bad shoulder in that fight.

Yes. Joshua was hurt, it was a typical am' stoppage, but nothing like lights out or anything.

I also left out everyones talking about stamina???Does everyone miss that Parker in practically every fight is breathing heavy even after 2/3 rnds? this is going to be a one side beat down bc now he would have a 240 plus guy making him fight at a fast paced and eating HEAVY punches ( i dont think ppl know that punches TAKE away stamina too). Parker should have actually fought Joshua when he had the chance bc now the skill sets are FARRRRRRRRRR apart.

Of course i still want to see the match as i do the fury one ,bc thats another explosive knockout win for Joshua....timber!!!!
