Joseph Parker on Joshua vs Klitschko 'I could land combos on either '

Parker isnt big enough to win vs either of those two from last night or even Wilder.He just cant reach them to land his own shits.

Even if he has very very good chin,how many flush shots before he goes down ...5-10....20 ? 6`6 + 250lbs + monsters,cant take flush shots for 12 rounds,even if u do then what ? 12-0 rounds loss on points.

Also Parker`s power is overrated at the very top level,people say that Wilder has no power at the very top but he has puncher`s chance against everyone because of that one punch power.

Ortiz on the other hand is old and inactive and easy to hit but can box and got power + counter punching ability but not sure bout his stamina and also how much punishment can he take before landing his own punches.

All those guys got stamina issues-AJ,Wlad,Parker,Ortiz...Wilder is lighter and can go easily 12 rounds but we never really seen him under big pressure anyway so u never know.

Its sad that we cant see Povetkin in the mix because Peds and stuff,he had chin,power,good boxing ability and lately improved stamina also.But hes very small hw sadly.

As for my countryman Pulev,he has zero power at HW literally featherfisted and since Wlad loss hes being awful,will get badly hurt vs AJ if they fight,may be has 30-40 % chance to win vs Parker and if he fights someone like Takam for vacant IBF may be 50%.

Parker is solid. I'd have given him more of a chance pre-Wlad fight.

Post-Wlad fight, I'd give him a reduce chance purely cos you'd imagine McCracken and Co will work over time to fix those flaws in AJ's game. It won't be a quick fix and you'd imagine by AJ's next fight he'd incorporate a few extra into his game.

 

Yeah maybe,he doesn't look big enough to me and after seeing the Ruiz fight I'm not sure anymore,that said he'll stuff Wilder when they meet.

 

Ortiz will lose because hes a southpaw....joshua is custom made to crush them and Ortiz moves in straight lines.

 

If parker can only just beat ruiz and takam, how can he beat AJ. Parkers decent but not gunna beat AJ IMO

 

Parker is still in the learning process, i dont really gage early fights like Takam ,but Parker hasnt actually improved as a fighter himself. Ruiz is overated in punching,he really hasnt knocked out anyone of note to give him that rep.Going off both Parker and joshua fights however ,clearly joshua is naturally skilled where Parker looks like TRYING to fight like a skilled guy....two different levels. I also still believe that Izu is better skilled than Parker ,maybe not as durable.

Parkers biggest strength is confidance and heart,however he has to have heart bc those guys hes struggling with wouldnt be Joshua sparring partners,so he needs to fight hard and not quit.

 

I can envision Parker beating either of them, for sure, so that's a start.

 

Can see parker being at top10 level for a while but never gunna dominate unless there is a massive improvement.

 

Parker is definatly top 10,i have him about 6 i think? Hes not going to dominate with some of the other guys around.....hes just not and thats bc they are good fighters or more effective ones...like wilder who would catch Parker and knock him out bc he is easily hit.

 

I see parker being around world level for a while. When the next generation of HW's get to world level i can see parker being a tough test for them.

 

I don't think it's so much about size as about punching power, durability, etc.

You get big HWs that are feather fists, we saw 6 ft 9 Granat get sparked out in 1 earlier this year and 6 ft 11 Dimitrenko has been brutally KO'ed too. Valuev was a decent HW but he's not on the level of a prime Klitschko for example.

Then you get a prime Mike Tyson, who was VERY short for a HW, but with that power probably takes out nearly everyone.

What makes Joshua good is that he has good skills, very good power and his offense is the best in the world. Plus he showed heart and recovery to come back from Rounds 5/6.

If Joseph Parker had the power of Mike Tyson or even David Tua (both smaller fighters still) he'd have a very good chance of beating Joshua. Unfortunately he doesn't, but in theory a fighter of his size is not necessarily too small.

 

Parker fights at 240lbs without carrying any significant muscle bulk at all. Wilder is lighter than him and Joshua is 250lbs while carrying as much muscle as you're ever likely to see on a pro boxer. Joshua as a 23/24 year old was coming in lighter than an 18 year old JP.

I get that the top guys have maybe 2-3 inches of height on Parker and have more aesthetic physiques, but he's actually naturally the BIGGEST of the lot. He's Samoan ffs. Can't compare that to a lean-framed body builder with huge biceps.
