Let's factor in the 18 months out. The worst thing about rust is timing, it goes quick. If Fury comes back with any half decent name he'll struggle to land. Imagine Fury vs Wach for his comeback. I'd fear for him actually.

No he's not :) Even at 41 and not prime anymore he still is capable of beating anyone in the division. And so is Tyson Fury who's coming back soon ;)

Think he showed the blueprint to beat joshua last nite in that if you hurt him you have to finish him. Hes too dangerous to let off the hook. Wlad done the wrong thing in hindsight...but at the time it was the right thing to do. A 41 year old that was outboxing joshua for a lot of that fight. You dont want to unload your tank too much. Wlads actually been a victim of that before. He went for it but he was aware not too totally unload over the two rounds or so joshua was really struggling. But after watching it unfold...what to take away is you hurt him...you dont let up. Thats your oppertunity. Hes too dangerous to let off the hook. Even if there is that fear you might unload your own tank. A younger fresher fighter would have ended that.

He was knocked down and almost stopped in the round previous to that, it wasn't a fresh Wlad and neither was Joshua after those rounds. Both were tired.

Yep I feel the same, Wlad was trying alright but Joshua did well to slip the highlight reel left hook. Wlad was trying to land that one shot to put him away but his timing was off and it just wasn't there. Maybe if he used the jab more the right hand would have found it's spot but it just wasn't to be, props to Joshua for surviving.

It's easy for us to sit at our keyboards and admonish Wlad for not ending things, but it is not an easy thing to knock out a determined, 250 pound, young guy with a good chin. One thing I wonder about in Wlad's last two fights though, was how much more difficult it proved to connect on guys that were as big or bigger than him. He was used to punching down for most of his career. Joshua's size made it hard for him to finish him off and stay safe at the same time.

This was the first time I can remember that Wlad wasn't able to manhandle his opponent. AJ seemed too strong especially at the end, even against Fury he could hold at will unless Fury got away..

AJ was there to be taken out. He punched himself out and was ready to be put down for good. Wlad kept going to the left hook and he kept missing. He did nothing to adjust it either, but adjusting was never something he did well. He needed to either stop throwing it so high, or throw it to bait AJ into ducking into an nice uppercut (not that he throws uppercuts)
Wlad fought admirably though. He can be proud of his performance. He showed lots of grit and determination.

he should have thrown the right hand more after the KD. After the KD he mostly threw left hooks.

Look at all these clowns here pretending that Wlad wasnt 41 years old and coming off a long layoff. That somehow his reflexes and athleticism has increased at 41:confused: Joshua was dropped and could not completely outbox Wlad who was giving Joshua hell, it was an even boxing exchange despite Wlad being 41 years oldo_O
Joshua did not look at all too elusive either, heck he made Wlad look like Sugar Ray Leonard in there, :boxing1 Fury UD's him:mad:

Joshua was there for the taking but Wlad was hurting himself after the 5th. Joshua was not going to go on the attack for a couple of rounds but his power shots where cocked and loaded to defend his shaky legs and foggy brain against the onslought that didnt really come. Wlad a little foggy brained himself wasnt just guna rush in for the kill he was guna do it right but Joshua was clever enough to slow it all down, smother and recover.

Had Wlad not been hurt in the 5th and still got AJ in the 6th it may well of been over by the 7th.

As Joshua said he gassed after missing so many shots after the first knockdown. Vladimir did the same. He did his best to take him out and couldn't and slightly gassed himself

Think he knows what he's doing after 64 fights. he wasn't out on his feet as he was successfully avoiding shots

So don't be annoyed for Vladimir aj wasn't there for the taking at all if he was he would have
