Is Deontay Wilder ever going to fight against top 10 opponet?

I think he'll go after Bellew. It's a good business decision i think if he wants to fight Joshua afterwards. They could even put it on the same show. I think Joshua might fight someone like Briggs next, or someone that could capture the pre fight imagination in a more entertaining way than the Wladimir fight. The fight afterwards, I do believe Wilder and Joshua will meet.

 

Well, clearly Wlad has been ducking Wilder for years. Wilder has been working up to this fight by pretending to ignore Wlad all this time, carefully marinading it like a lazy-aged steak.

But Wlad has other plans.

He's not going to hang around till he's 50 and wait for Wilder to throw down that gauntlet. In fact, I have it on good authority that Wlad has planned on retiring before Wilder can call him out. That's right, you read it here first. Shameful.

 

Bermane Stirverne is a current top 10 fighter in the WBC and was the champion when Wilder fought him, so yes Wilder has fought a top 10 fighter as far as the WBC goes. However when we judge Wilders opponents by their skills, abilities, athleticism and just overall boxing ability - some of us are very skeptic about their placing as a top 10 or their quality. Take Molina for example, some of us felt he really wasnt that good of a boxer and Joshua confirmed that later on, although Joshua beat him a lot easier than I thought he wouldve pre-fight.

Wilder IMO has not fought many well rounded boxers. He's not come against a decent boxer. Im not saying he'd lose if he did, Im just saying Ive watched his fights and not many of his opponents are good boxers with skill. Wilder has even said he doesnt need skill and thats because its been awhile since hes encountered a skillful boxer to the point where he now doesnt see the point in it. Wilder believes and backs his product which is power. Hes a puncher, not a boxer.

 

I want to see vlad v wilder... That would be fun to watch

It should be easy for you guys to say "THESE ARE MY TOP 10," yet every time I lay out this challenge so we can meet your definition, they scatter like cockroaches when the lights come on.

 

he's a highly protected fighter. All cherry picks except Stiverne who is solid B class let's be honest.

 

Deontay and Audley are a lot alike and will follow similar roads.
it's kind of ironic that Harrison put Wilder over.

 

The thing is, if he doesn't he will be the biggest bum of boxing ever. He will only be remembered by how Dustin Nichols flattened him.

 

yeah good point and once again it comes down to levels,how many times have we seen guys with power come unstuck against a boxer,what surprises me is how often fans seem to forget these levels,Wlad looked awesome to me and re speed he was never fast in his pomp,still think a fit Tyson Furey is the no 1 heavyweight,some of the stuff he did was a joy to watch.
Re Wilder I've said it for a while now but no decent boxer should get pinned by those windmills as they're so telegraphed,does Wilder have an uppercut like AJ or any other conventional punch?

 

I dont think you red and understood my post. You may have skim red it. I've talked about the boxing ability of his opponents. If you've boxed, you should understand this. If not, then just think about it when you review Wilders past fights and make up your own mind.

 

I would like to see Wilder fight Pulev, Povetkin, Wladimir, Joshua, Fury, Parker, Ortiz next, any one of them would do.
