If the ref let it continue would Joshua have gassed out again?

That I agree with, and think was certainly a strong possibility!

I just think the way they fought the first 10 rounds, that whatever happened in the championship rounds, neither man had anything to be embarrassed about.

I have no problem with the stoppage. Wlad was basically done after that uppercut landed. He didn't throw a single punch after that shot landed, he spent the last 70+ seconds of that fight not throwing a punch and just getting hit, he wasn't strong enough to tie him up, he had been dropped twice and was pinned in the corner, taking shots with no way to get out.

In the 5th when Wlad was able to turn the round around he was still able to throw punches back after being dropped, this wasn't the case in the 11th, he wasn't able to punch back and so was unable to turn the fight round like in the 5th.

Now some might say it was stopped too early and he should of been given a chance to turn it around like the 5th, but this was a very different situation to the 5th, he was far more hurt and wasn't able to punch back. And even if Wlad could of survived the round I don't think he would of been in any fit state to win the round if he had spent the last 38 seconds on the ropes taking shot after shot from a puncher like Joshua, that would of been a sickening end to his career, one which I quite frankly wouldn't have wanted to see, these men are warriors but they are still men with loved ones.

There was 35 seconds left in the 11th round and Wlad was going down if it was allowed to continue.

Wlad could have survived. Nonetheless, it is better to err on the side of caution. A good stoppage.

this needs to be added to the compendium of klitschko excuses thread - Wlad lost because he was a millionaire. If he wasnt a millionaire he would have won.

In the 5th AJ was going to town and Wlad got him with a great hook. Everyone probs missed it (as I did first time) as they though AJ was about to win but it totally rocked him (as Wlad hooks tend to do).

So at the end of the 5th and the 6th you had 2 hurt fighters which is why neither finished the other..

In regards to the stoppage Wlad was pretty much spent before the 11th and that uppercut had him out on his feet, he would have gotten hurt bad if it continued...

Can't rewrite a fight with hindsight.

Ref could have let it continue and we would have had a different result or the same.

Ref was very fair. After both knockdowns in the 11th, he took a long hard look in Wlads eyes asked him if he was okay and rubbed his gloves on his shirt. He respected Wlads courage by getting back up but he could have stopped it after the second knockdown.

Yes absolutely, totally different how he went down in round 5 to what happened in round 11,that uppercut was brutal and really hurt Wlad, even without the extra punches he was gone the moment that uppercut landed.
I don't give Wilder a prayer against AJ or Wlad as always Wilder has that punchers chance but I honestly think Wilder gets knocked out badly.

Yes I don't understand that,,what are his trainers doing letting him get like that,he seems to be obsessed with the weights but he needs telling that he doesn't need to be like that as he's naturally big and has the power anyway, imagine if he lost some of that he'd be so much fitter and better looking for it in terms of stamina I reckon?

Wlad didn't have enough left to hurt Aj by that point which means wlad would had been a wobbling hurt fighter until flattened again

No way was Wlad coming back, he was done. He was going down again if the ref didn't stop the fight when he did, only a idiot would think anyone would come back from that.

Lol, how does so many "fans" miss everything, entirely. Aj never gassed, he was tired after pummeling wlad in the 11th but he was very far from "gassed".

He was very disappointed in his performance as a whole after finally stopping wlad in the 11th. The 5th when he went after wlad to finish him (exactly how I saw it, totally missed wlad literally being obsessed) wlad caught Aj with a quick full twist left hook on unsuspecting rushing in Aj and buzzed him then caught him with a whole bunch of clean fight enders. Aj has a beast of a chin, heart and everything.

Half of the 5th and all of the 6th Aj was just about out on his feet. Wlad is the most devastating puncher we've known of and Aj absorbed everything came back and tko'd the beast.

If the shots wlad landed couldn't stop him, only 1 kd then I don't know if he gets ko'd by anyone. Wlad landed the perfect shots, multiple perfect shots that are supposed to end fights.

If the ref didn't stop it all that would've happened is wlad taking much more punishment than was needed. He literally couldn't defend himself.

Aj has very very good stamina. Taking a round or 2 to fully recover from being badly hurt and coming back 100% is the smart thing to do. Aj has great ring is. Dudes elite in every aspect.

This dude, Aj is going to be very very difficult to beat for a very long time. And nobody has the levels needed to beat him ATM.
