Spence/Brook will prove level of competition is overrated

It is an open discussion, and I understand your logic, but to many Brook emerged with credit due to the fact that he was the first guy to win rounds against Golovkin for ages, and he got pulled out rather than truly KO'ed.

Apart from that Brook has Porter and a number of lesser guys, Spence has Algieri and a number of lesser guys. Porter is the better name for sure, he fought Thurman very close and just beat Berto easily.

I am a huge fan of Spence, I'm picking him and rooting for him for what it's worth.

But his resume hasn't overtaken Brook yet IMO.

Level of opposition is simply a way to help people gauge where a fighter is at. Most guys don't have the highly visible talent of a Spence, or Rigondeaux. We can look at guys like them before they ever fought anyone good and guess fairly accurately that they would do well at the top level.

By the way Spence is going to whoop that arse.

For some reason I think that this fight is going to be a one sided beat down with Spence stopping Brook within 6 rounds. Nothing against Brook I just feel that the Golovkin fight has sort of stuffed his career up if he had never moved from 147 I would call this a 50/50 fight so I do think that Spence is getting him at the right time.

It's as close an even fight you can get.
Spence has youth, aggression and power to go along with the skill he possessed.
While Brook has experience, sublime skill and hometown advantage.
Brook has fought aggressive fighter in porter and came out in flying colour. Spence imo hasn't fought anybody that has the skill and size of Brook.
With that line of thought I think Brook can beat him but who knows how much damage GGG fight and the coming down in weight will affect him.

I believe stops Spence Jr, I've seen Brook punched in the face by Golovkin, he didn't fold.

I also believe Spence Jr has been kept away from any remotely dangerous punchers for a reason.

Spence will take the step up in class in his stride and beat Brook handily by wide UD.

Brook check weight this morning. 10 stone 13lbs.

Doesn't seem any issue getting down to 147 for Special K.

I agree, people read too much into the Carson Jones fight. He looked on a totally different level in the rematch. Mind you, that was fought at a catchweight and this fight is at 147. I'm hoping Brook does a job on Spence but the weight could be a big factor and tip the fight in Spence's favour later on

Well we have seen Spence hurt before albeit a good while ago but you can be sure Brook will have seen that footage, this fight is so much better than Thurman v Garcia as it's two primo welter weights.

As a Brit I am pulling for Brook. One of my favourite fighters. Fear he will get beat up and stopped here though..
