If heavyweights couldn't stop him how on earth is Golovkin meant to? Toney eats fighters alive when they come to him, he has one of the best counter right hands you'll ever see, and his defence is impeccable, he could sit in the pocket with Golovkin and rarely get hit.

Golovkin is good, possibly great but Toney is just better. Faster hands, better combinations, more accurate, far better defence, he takes away many of Golovkins strengths.

Toney struggled with speed, movement counter punchers not fighters who came to him and tried to overwhelm him. Styles makes fights and in this one Golovkin just met a guy who thrives off his opponents aggression.

 

This question got answered when GGG fought Jacobs.

I like Toney in this one. And, for the record I have Jones over GGG as well. Quite honestly, GGG vs Reggie Johnson is 50/50. Reggie Johnson is definitely a better fighter than Danny Jacobs, and that fight was extremely close.

Beat me to it. I was waiting for his response so i could cite that fight you just posted, not because it really means anything here but because his logic is so astoundingly stupid on nearly anything boxing related isn't it? Beats Jacobs hence he loses to Toney.. Tiberi CLOWNED Toney at times! How can Toney beat Nunn or McCallum?? When he can't even out box Tiberi.. Looollll Truth is Toney faced nothing (style wise) like GGG at MW & vice versa. Fantasy fights! It's time machines & day dreams.. A crutch that lessens the butt hurt. This question did not got answered when GGG fought Jacobs because Toney is not Jacobs & nor did Jacobs win LOL Tiberi clearly DID beat Toney.. Tiberi landed 439 punches to Toney's 290. Tiberi never fought again after this fight he was so sickened!

We really don't know how good Tiberi could have been. He was a true journeyman that fought monthly and held down a real job, the Toney fight was one his first proper showcases with a full on training camp. It's a real Rocky fight. And pity he quit after that horrible horrible decision, but I don't blame him. Had to be discouraging.

I've been toying with the andrewa1 guy. Of course he will say, I've been owned, destroyed..blah blah, not unlike Dino. Like Dino, he also seems more interested in arguing and flaming than boxing, I see no reason to believe either one has ever watched a boxing match.
