I found it painful. After last Saturday, even after the undercard. Chavez was a real let down, he surprised me by coming in at the weight and it seemed he had trained hard for this one physically and mentally. But he did look like an empty shell on the night and where were the tactics? There were none what so ever, he never changed his pace, never changed his lead, didnt use any of the extra reach or height. Nothing. Oscar is such a proud Mexican that he is happy to feed that kind of sh1t to the Mexican people after painting it up so much, hell for 2 Mexicans in a Mexican showdown on Mexico day what city of Mexico did they choose to hold the fight?. He cant control what kind of shape Chavez turns up in but he can have a bloody good guess at it and got what he expected. Mexicans should open their eyes to Oscar, we all should. Great great Boxer but as a promoter he is nothing more than a ruthless business man who isnt here to give back to the sport some of what he got out of it.
Just seen the face off between Canelo and GGG. Other than the Lemmy fight, i am a fan, that was the best moment of the night. Canelo is not afraid of GGG. Oscar is.
Chavez would have done better coming in overweight, and outweighing canelo by 15 lbs. That would allow him to use the advantage of pure mass like he always did in the past. He would at least have a chance of hurting canelo this way. Still don't think he would have won many rounds, but maybe he could have produced some interesting moments instead of the snore fest we saw.
I think he was just depleted physically. Knowing Dela Cokehead there was probably a rehydration clause in there too
haven't seen it. Couldn't keep my eyes open, so missed it entirely. Saw Matthysse vs Taylor and Lemieux vs Reyes though.
I felt ripped off. Chavez owes me money. I ordered the Ppv expecting a fight but got to watch a heavy bag workout instead, not worth my 60 bucks!
Fixed....Yes it was FIXED at 164.5 against an inactive fighter who is also over the hill with his career.....FIXED= Canelo and Oscar sucked money off of the Mexican name to give Canelo a bump on his resume FIXED FIGHT TO SUX FROM DAY ONE
I skipped around the highlights on YouTube for about 5 minutes and then asked myself wtf are you doing, we have work in the morning. So no.
I enjoyed the first few mins when it looked like chaves might actualy be planning on taking the fight to canelo, but after the first few mins it was a massive disappointment. Untill the announcement at the end and even that felt like a poverty version of the eddie hearn AJ vs Wlad announcement lol
Was a terrible showing from Chavez Jr, think he fooled alot of people into believing he was motivated & ready But in reality he had nothing, wasn't gonna try & get any meaningful shots off & just made a show of himself tbh
Yes. Yes I did enjoy it very much. I thought it was a fight of the year candidate. It was a knockdown, drag out war, with both guys giving their all and throwing every punch with bad intentions. I, for one, would love to see a rematch over 15 rounds.
